The Kindle Scribe without Front Light is now priced $70 less than the standard model.

If you've been hesitant to purchase a Kindle Scribe due to its price, Amazon has now provided a new incentive. The Kindle Scribe without Front Light is currently available for $429.99 on Amazon, which is $70 less than the regular Kindle Scribe.

This model was initially announced by Amazon in 2025, and it is finally here. The only drawback is highlighted in its name: it does not include a front light, making it more challenging to read or write in low-light settings compared to the more expensive version.

What features does the Kindle Scribe without Front Light have?

The device includes the same 11-inch glare-free display and paper-like writing experience as the standard model. It is 5.4mm thin, weighs 400g, and operates on a quad-core processor, enabling writing and page transitions to be 40% faster than earlier models.

The primary differences from the standard model include the absence of a front light and a storage limit of 16GB, as opposed to the 32GB or 64GB available on the more expensive variant. On the software side, users still have full access to AI-powered notebook features, including search, summaries, handwriting-to-text conversion, and the option to import documents from Google Drive and Microsoft OneDrive.

Additionally, the new "Story So Far" feature is now available on all Kindle devices.

Amazon has launched the ‘Story So Far’ feature on all modern Kindle devices and within the Kindle app on Android and iOS. This AI-driven tool creates spoiler-free summaries of a book’s plot and characters based on the exact page you’re reading.

It includes thousands of popular titles in English from the Kindle Store and Kindle Unlimited, and is accessible to US customers with software version 5.19.4.0.1 or higher. To use it, simply tap the three-dot menu while reading or long-press a book in your library to locate the recap button.

AT&T is offering day plans that provide cellular services for your iPad, even if you’re not a customer.

AT&T has launched a new wireless option named Unlimited Day Pass, which grants eligible iPad users 24 hours of unlimited cellular data for a flat fee of $3, regardless of their AT&T customer status. This service is aimed at Wi-Fi + Cellular iPad models equipped with eSIM support and represents one of the first significant efforts by a U.S. carrier to provide immediate tablet connectivity without requiring contracts, subscriptions, or long-term obligations.

According to AT&T, the first Unlimited Day Pass is complimentary for customers, limited to one iPad per individual. Afterward, users can acquire additional passes directly from their iPad using a debit or credit card. The activation process can be done via the iPad's settings menu without needing an app or an active Wi-Fi connection. Users need to open the Settings app, go to Cellular Data, and add the AT&T Unlimited Day Pass. Once activated, the 24-hour unlimited data period begins shortly thereafter.

Apple wrapped up its WWDC 2026 event, and I've had the opportunity to install and explore the developer beta for iPadOS 27.       ASUS has officially introduced the new Asus Pad, which notably resembles the iPad, but seems to offer a strong OLED Android tablet option.

The Asus Pad has been revealed, and its inspiration is hard to overlook. From its flat metal design and balanced bezels to the magnetic keyboard attachments and stylus compatibility, the tablet shows a clear influence from Apple’s iPad range. However, beneath its familiar aesthetics, it could actually be one of the more interesting Android tablets to debut this year.

The Asus Pad is launching at a time when Android tablet manufacturers are aggressively trying to compete with Apple in the premium productivity hardware market. While many Android tablets still face challenges with app optimization and ecosystem refinement, companies are increasingly understanding that consumers value display quality, battery life, and hardware design just as much as they do software exclusives.
