OnePlus 15 becomes part of the limited Android group that can AirDrop to iPhones.
Quick Share simplifies file transfers between Android and iPhone on the OnePlus 15
The OnePlus 15 has now become part of the select group of Android devices that can directly share files with Apple products using AirDrop.
According to Android Authority, the Quick Share feature supporting AirDrop is now available on the OnePlus 15. This was also confirmed in a post on the OnePlus Community, where a user noted that the device could send files to iPhones, iPads, and Macs via Apple's sharing service. Consequently, users of the OnePlus 15 should be able to transfer files to nearby iPhones and receive files from them without needing alternative methods like Google Drive links, Bluetooth, or third-party file-sharing applications.
How it operates on the OnePlus 15
The procedure still relies on the AirDrop visibility settings established by Apple. For iPhone users, AirDrop must be enabled and set to “Everyone for 10 Minutes.” On the OnePlus 15, users can access Quick Share, select Send, choose the file, and then select the nearby iPhone from the list of available devices.
This process also works in reverse. An iPhone user can open the sharing options, select AirDrop, and choose the OnePlus 15 if the Android device is visible. While this may seem like a minor change in everyday use, it holds significant value for households with both Android and iPhone users.
Initial rollout began with Pixel devices
Google initially announced Quick Share support for AirDrop in November 2025, starting with the Pixel 10 series. Since then, the feature has gradually rolled out to additional Android phones, including the Pixel 9 series, Galaxy S25 series, newer Samsung flagship models, OPPO Find X9 series, Vivo X300 Ultra, and Pixel 8a.
Currently, there is no confirmed timeline for older OnePlus devices. Google has also provided a broader Quick Share QR code method for transferring files between Android and iPhone, but direct AirDrop-style support is clearly a more streamlined option.
Apple is also enhancing AirDrop with iOS 27, which is expected to improve file sharing among supported Apple devices. However, it remains unclear if Android phones utilizing Quick Share will experience these speed enhancements when sending files to iPhones, iPads, or Macs.

Burner phones may suffer as the FCC tackles robocalls
Proposed ID checks would target scammers, while requiring prepaid users to provide additional personal information.
The FCC is considering phone ID regulations that could make it more difficult to obtain burner phones in the US. This proposal, aimed at combating robocalls and scam messages, would mandate telecom companies to gather identifying information before providing service to individuals who are starting or maintaining a plan. This means prepaid users, whose numbers previously remained detached from more extensive identity records, may find their numbers linked to carrier-held data before service activation, diminishing the appeal of burner phones without any prior suspicious activity.
