Apple is set to release new Beats headphones, and FC Barcelona star Lamine Yamal is already seen wearing them.
Beats' upcoming over-ear headphones were first identified in an FCC database and later seen on Lamine Yamal's head at Spain's World Cup training camp, in a pink shade.
Although Beats has not officially announced the new over-ear headphones, nor has Apple, the unveiling occurred when the 18-year-old Barcelona forward arrived at the training camp. Lamine Yamal shared images and a video on Instagram, which received over 1.8 million likes, displaying him entering the camp with a pair of unreleased pink Beats headphones.
Where did these headphones originate?
The headphones were somewhat anticipated. Just a week prior to Yamal’s Instagram post, a new model of over-ear headphones had been logged in the US Federal Communications Commission (FCC) database. This filing is mandatory for any wireless device before it can be sold in the United States. MacRumors had already indicated they were likely a Beats product, and Yamal's sighting confirmed this.
What do the headphones look like?
In my view, these don't resemble the Beats Studio Pro. The design is notably different. The ear cups have a flatter outer shape, and the headband features a tubular telescoping arm design, contrasting with the wider, flatter arms found on the Studio Pro.
It remains unconfirmed whether this is a next-gen Studio Pro marketed under a new name or an entirely new product line. The pink colorway that Yamal was wearing is the only confirmed color so far.
There is no announcement yet regarding a launch timeline, but the FCC approval and early exposure to prominent influencers ahead of the World Cup indicate that a release is likely imminent.
Beats often provides unreleased products to athletes and musicians prior to major sporting events as a deliberate marketing strategy. The timing with the World Cup is likely intentional. Notably, the FCC filing occurred first, suggesting the product was already in the regulatory approval stage when Yamal shared his post.

Apple's smart glasses are projected to be released closer to the end of 2027 due to delays.
Apple's ambition for smart glasses is significant, eyeing a $200 billion eyewear market and a potential customer base of 2.2 billion, with Tim Cook prioritizing it personally. The company has been developing smart glasses for several years, and if you were hoping to purchase a pair this year, Bloomberg has some disappointing news.
According to Mark Gurman, Apple’s smart glasses, referred to internally as N50, have been pushed back beyond their initial timeline. The original plan was to launch them at the end of 2026 and begin shipping by early 2027. They are now aiming for a late 2027 release.
In a surprising move, Acer has introduced two stylish smart glasses ahead of Computex 2026.
In 2026, the smart glasses conversation was mainly led by a few prominent companies: Meta, Samsung, and Google. While other brands have already launched products, few anticipated competition from Acer, a PC and laptop manufacturer that has recently entered this market. The company has quietly released two pairs of glasses before Computex 2026, and neither appears to be experimental.
After smart glasses, Meta is reportedly developing an AI-powered pendant for wear.
Meta’s ambitions for smart glasses are well-known. The company has been working for years to convince people that AI technology should be worn on their faces. According to a report from The Information, it is now looking to take it a step further. Meta is developing an AI-powered pendant, which it plans to test over the coming year. This wearable would join an increasingly crowded market of AI hardware, but in contrast to smart glasses, it would likely be used discreetly around your neck.
This concept isn’t entirely new, as Meta acquired the AI startup Limitless in 2025, which had a flagship product named the Pendant—a clip-on microphone meant to continuously capture conversations and ambient sounds, generating searchable transcripts, summaries, and reminders. At the time, the acquisition seemed a strategic move into AI wearables. It now appears that Meta is prepared to capitalize on this.
