Spotify now allows you to create clips and share your favorite moments from podcasts on social media.
Podcast Clips is being launched worldwide on Spotify for both Free and Premium mobile users.
Spotify has introduced Podcast Clips, a feature that allows users to capture, trim, save, and share specific moments from any supported podcast directly within the app. This feature is being released globally today for both Free and Premium users on mobile devices.
How can you share Spotify Podcast Clips?
While listening to a supported podcast, click on the new scissors icon in the Now Playing screen. This will open an interface where you can choose the exact moment you want, trim it to the desired length, and preview it before saving.
Once saved, your clips are stored in Your Library, where you can access them anytime or add them to a podcast playlist. When you’re ready to share, click the share button and choose your sharing format.
The updated sharing menu offers you four options: full episode, chapter, timestamp, or clip. You can send it directly to friends via Spotify Messages or any other compatible platform.
Why is this feature significant?
An increasing number of prominent tech and AI leaders are avoiding traditional media interviews and opting instead to talk to podcasters. As a result, much of the news is being revealed in long podcast episodes that many people don’t have the time to listen to completely.
Podcast Clips makes it simpler for the best moments from those discussions to reach an audience. For creators, a shared clip serves as a discovery tool, attracting new listeners through a single captivating moment rather than requiring them to commit to an entire episode right away.
Spotify has been actively introducing new features lately. The platform launched Studio by Spotify Labs, an AI app that creates personalized podcasts and daily briefings. It has also added narrated magazine articles from major publishers like Rolling Stone and Vogue to its library, and announced an AI tool that allows Premium subscribers to create covers and remixes of licensed songs.
