Oppo's Bubble is the entertaining MagSafe accessory that Apple continues to ignore.

Oppo has introduced a new phone accessory in China called the Oppo Bubble, which is quite versatile. It serves as a selfie tool, a small rear display, a playful add-on, and an overall entertaining accessory. This kind of innovation would have certainly gained traction on tech TikTok a few years back.

Launched alongside the Reno 16 series, the Bubble is a compact magnetic circular display designed to attach to the back of compatible Oppo smartphones. This little gadget effectively acts as a secondary screen, enhancing the quality of selfies, which is quite convenient. It's small, lightweight, and customizable, improving your selfies or group photos thanks to superior rear cameras. Normally, users would have to guess the framing with rear cameras, but this device simplifies the process.

      What functionalities does it offer?

The Oppo Bubble features a circular AMOLED touchscreen capable of displaying static wallpapers, live images, videos, emojis, decorative themes, and carousel-style media playback. Thus, it is not limited to serving solely as a selfie accessory; however, the wireless camera preview is undoubtedly its most useful feature.

When the Bubble is attached, users can see the framing, adjust angles, and take photos remotely. Oppo claims that the Bubble supports wireless live preview from as far as 10 meters away, making it practical for tripod shots, group photos, or anyone who has attempted the awkward “set timer, dash into frame, and hope for the best” routine.

      Practical yet lightweight

Fortunately, Oppo has ensured that this device isn’t excessively bulky. The Bubble is about 7mm thick and weighs roughly 27.5 grams, so it won’t turn your phone into a heavy accessory. It also includes a built-in 550mAh battery, connects wirelessly, and can automatically be recognized by compatible Oppo phones when brought close.

Additionally, it can be used as a standalone hanging display accessory in conjunction with a compatible protective case. The Oppo Bubble is priced at 499 yuan, approximately $75, in China. It is compatible with the Oppo Reno 16 series, Reno 15 series, Reno 14 series, Find X8 series, and Find X9 series.

Considering the impressive capabilities of some of Oppo’s latest flagship camera phones, users of those devices can truly benefit from accessories like this. While not everyone may require a small magnetic selfie screen on their phone, vloggers, selfie enthusiasts, and tech aficionados would certainly find this accessory appealing.
