Sony introduces the 1000X Collexion headphones, maintaining a sophisticated look at an attractive price point.
At a price of $649.99 each, you receive metal and leather aesthetics without any sacrifice in audio quality.
Sony is commemorating the 10th anniversary of its renowned 1000X series of headphones through the introduction of a new model, emphasizing premium appearances and high-quality materials. The result is the 1000X THE COLLEXION noise-canceling headphones. Consider them as the traditional WH-1000XM6 headphones, but dressed differently and with a steeper price tag. The new Sony headphones retail for $649.99 and are available in platinum and black finishes.
What’s included?
Sony claims these headphones deliver studio-quality sound, a distinction inherited from the popular WH-1000XM6 headphones. “At the core of 1000X THE COLLEXION is a custom driver unit featuring a soft edge and a newly designed high-rigidity dome made from unidirectional carbon composite material, providing clearer separation between instruments and vocals, more intricate high-frequency detail, and a fuller, broader soundstage,” the company explains. They also incorporate several unique features.

Sony has established itself as a leader in wearable audio devices that excel in noise isolation, and the 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones uphold this reputation. They feature a multi-noise sensing system utilizing 12 microphone units and an Adaptive NC Optimizer to eliminate external noise (QN3 + V3 processors, which sound familiar?), a technology borrowed from the WH-1000XM6 headphones. Sony also touts a battery life of 24 hours, with a mere five minutes of charging providing 1.5 hours of music playback.

Furthermore, Sony highlights that for high-resolution audio playback, LDAC support is included, emphasizing that its latest model sets a new standard for audio quality. The Sony 1000X THE COLLEXION headphones will compete against models such as the Apple AirPods Max 2, Bowers & Wilkins Px8, and the second-gen Bose QuietComfort Ultra.
