Details from Mystic Leaks concerning the Pixel 11 suggest a restructured CPU utilizing ARM's latest C1-series cores. There’s also speculation about a high-performance “Ultra” core operating at approximately 4.11GHz, complemented by several “Pro” cores at 3.38GHz, aiming for enhanced overall performance.

      However, not all news is encouraging.

      Improvements with the Tensor G6

      Historically, Google's Tensor chips have not matched up to the CPU performance of Qualcomm and Apple. Therefore, emphasizing performance with the new ARM cores could enable the upcoming Google mobile application processor to narrow that gap. Additionally, more extensive enhancements are anticipated for the Tensor G6. A significant advancement is the transition to TSMC's cutting-edge manufacturing process. The forthcoming chip might utilize the 2nm process, potentially resulting in greater efficiency, enhanced thermal performance, and improved battery life.

      In the past, many users of Pixel devices have expressed concerns about several issues affecting their Google smartphones, particularly regarding heat generation and power efficiency. Thus, the Tensor G6 will offer more than just a performance increase.

      Gaming may not be prioritized

      While the aforementioned enhancements are promising, there is still uncertainty regarding graphics performance. The leak suggests that Google may adopt a PowerVR-based GPU architecture for the Tensor G6. This change may be more nominal than an actual boost, with initial reports indicating minimal to no advancements in GPU performance compared to the previous generation.       Google has larger ambitions

      In addition to enhancements in CPU and GPU, Google may be focusing on other elements within the upcoming system-on-chip (SoC). The Pixel 11 might transition from Samsung modems to MediaTek’s M90 chip to improve connectivity and power efficiency. There are also indications of a new Titan M3 security chip and advancements in on-device AI processing.
