Alright, I’ll replay Control again.
A new AAA game has just been released on the iPhone and iPad, and it’s one of the finest titles to arrive on Apple devices. Control Ultimate Edition is now available on the App Store, bringing Remedy’s supernatural action game to iPadOS and iOS as a universal purchase, complete with support for touch controls and external controllers.
Remedy states that the iOS version has been specifically tailored for mobile use, featuring adjustments to the user interface, aiming, and puzzles to enhance its performance on smaller screens rather than merely being a simple port.
If you somehow missed Control the first time, it remains one of Remedy’s most impressive games. You take on the role of Jesse Faden as she navigates the Oldest House, a shape-shifting “government” building teeming with paranormal dangers. Without giving anything away, picture a blend of otherworldly horrors and the SCP Foundation. While the initial pacing and gameplay may appear straightforward, the game truly finds its rhythm later on.
The gameplay mechanics are robust, the level design is exceptional, and the narrative is just enigmatic enough to keep you engaged. If that doesn't pique your interest right away, the game also exists within the same universe as Alan Wake and has loose connections to Remedy’s earlier classic, Max Payne. Control isn’t just about taking down enemies (which is still a viable strategy); players can utilize powerful telekinetic abilities that make every office confrontation visually stunning.
Another pleasant surprise is the pricing. Remedy's Control Ultimate Edition is available for only $4.99 in the US. It is also a universal purchase for iPad, iPhone, and Mac. However, the game is quite large for a mobile device, so ensure you have adequate storage before making any decisions. The iPhone and iPad versions require roughly 45GB of space, making it not a casual impulse download. Still, it’s not every day that such a high-quality game appears in your pocket.

Monitors have evolved beyond simple upgrades. Here’s what’s changing.
From advancements in OLED technology to extreme refresh rates and 6K displays, new innovations are transforming what modern monitors can accomplish. For a long time, monitors have progressed along a predictable trajectory, with gradual improvements in resolution, refresh rates, and panel technologies that felt more incremental than revolutionary. However, that trend is beginning to change.
Razer has just unveiled the world’s thinnest glass mouse mat, which will be a relief for your wrists.
At just 1.9mm thick, the Razer Atlas Pro is essentially the iPhone Air of mouse pads. If you’re a gamer, you know that even minor details are crucial. The height of your mouse pad, the surface friction, the size—all these factors influence not just your gameplay but also how your wrist feels after extended sessions. Razer has tackled all these issues with the new Atlas Pro mouse pad. At only 1.9mm thick from top to bottom, including the rubber base, it breaks the sub-2mm barrier for mouse pads for the first time and is recognized as the world’s thinnest glass mouse mat.
Xbox Game Pass has just got a price reduction, and I’m not opposed to the accompanying changes.
In the gaming industry, there’s a fondness for hype cycles, but there’s also a thrill in a significant value overhaul. Currently, Xbox Game Pass is in the midst of one such change. Microsoft has officially reduced prices across various Game Pass tiers, making the service more affordable at a time when subscription fatigue is prevalent. However, there's always a catch, and this one is significant.
