Several new features from the Galaxy S26 are being rolled out to older Samsung flagship devices and foldables.
Samsung's new Galaxy S26 enhancements won't remain exclusive for long
Samsung is preparing to release a broader One UI 8.5 update, which will incorporate several of the Galaxy S26's top AI features into older models. The beta rollout of One UI 8.5 will include the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, and the Galaxy S25 FE.
What to anticipate from One UI 8.5
The One UI 8.5 beta has been identified with various features such as Call Screening, which can answer unknown callers and display live transcripts on your device. Additionally, Samsung is introducing Creative Studio, which allows for generative edits and a sticker creation tool within the Gallery app.
One UI 8.5 also features an upgraded Photo Assist that enhances object removal and background filling capabilities. Another significant addition is Audio Eraser. As reported by Android Authority, Samsung has expanded this feature to work with third-party applications, allowing users to eliminate wind noise or other unwanted sounds in recordings made on apps like WhatsApp and Instagram, not just videos taken with the default camera app.
Currently in beta
While features from the Galaxy S26 are being introduced to older Galaxy flagship and foldable models, they are still limited to devices included in the One UI 8.5 beta program, which is being rolled out in select regions globally.
The software update not only introduces new features but also makes adjustments to the UI, including changes to the Quick Settings panel, Galaxy Now Bar, and notifications. Before these models were added, Samsung had already incorporated the Galaxy S25, Galaxy S25+, Galaxy S25 Edge, and Galaxy S25 Ultra.
