Motorola has recently released the Android 17 beta for additional Razr and Edge devices.

More Motorola smartphones can now experience the Android 17 beta.

Motorola is broadening its Android 17 beta program to encompass several additional older models. This time, even past flagship and foldable devices are being invited to participate.

According to Android Authority, Motorola is granting Android 17 beta access to three more devices: the Motorola Razr Plus 2025, Motorola Razr Plus 2024, and Motorola Edge 50 Ultra. In certain markets, the Razr Plus 2024 and 2025 models are marketed as the Razr 50 Ultra and Razr 60 Ultra. All of these are premium models finally receiving access to the latest beta iteration.

Motorola is including more foldables and flagships.

Motorola is expanding the beta access beyond the initial limited selection. It now includes two foldable devices and one flagship smartphone. To recap, the company began the Android 17 beta in February, initially offering it to the Moto Edge (2025), Moto G57, and Moto G57 Power.

This development follows closely after Google started its rollout, and Motorola appears more willing to distribute access than in the past. This change is significant for a brand that hasn't historically been known for quick Android updates. Even though this remains beta software, Motorola seems more motivated than ever to demonstrate progress in this update phase.

How to gain beta access and its availability.

Motorola is inviting applications from the US, India, Europe, Latin America, and Brazil. This is a broad scope, making it feel less like a restricted preview and more of a genuine opportunity for users interested in early software testing.

The application process is fairly standard. Users must create an account on Motorola’s official community site, add their phone's IMEI or serial number to their profile, join the Motorola Feedback Network, and apply via the Beta Testing Opportunities page. After approval, users will receive the beta as an over-the-air update.

It is important to note that this is still beta software, so users should anticipate some broken features, battery drains, crashes, or other instabilities.

OnePlus’ gaming controller for phones introduces an innovative charging feature.

OnePlus’ new controller for the Ace 6 Ultra seems designed to transform a phone into a handheld gaming device, but its clever design includes an open space in the center. OnePlus indicates that this area is intended for cooling, and promotional images show that it’s not merely a grip with triggers attached. This design incorporates space for effective heat management and improved power options simultaneously.

OnePlus continues to promote its gaming features, which include four physical buttons, hybrid touch-and-button controls, micro-switch inputs, a 1 kHz polling rate, and a claimed 1.8 ms response time. However, the comfort over prolonged use presents a more compelling argument, especially for shooter games that can be punitive with awkward hand placements and overheating devices.

New leaks provide clarification on the absence of a feature that initially appeared missing in Apple's foldable iPhone, specifically the MagSafe. The concerns about the missing MagSafe feature were likely exaggerated.
