Amazon's response to Samsung’s The Frame starts at $899 and features a matte 4K QLED screen, interchangeable bezels, and helpful AI functionalities.
Amazon is finally prepared to allow you to mount its art-centric TV on your wall. Following a prominent launch at CES earlier this year, the Amazon Ember Artline series is now officially available for pre-order.
Integrating technology into your home decor
As a direct rival to Samsung’s The Frame TV, the Ember Artline's main aim is to blend into your surroundings. It achieves this with a sleek 1.5-inch profile, a matte screen that reduces reflections, and a magnetic frame system that makes it resemble an art piece rather than a typical black screen on your wall.
What truly distinguishes the Ember Artline is the absence of hidden fees. While Samsung requires a subscription for its premier gallery content, Amazon includes over 2,000 pieces of art free of charge. The TV also incorporates AI, allowing users to upload images of their environment and receive artwork suggestions that would harmonize with their furniture and lighting via Alexa+.
High-end features and competitive pricing
Internally, it boasts a robust 4K QLED panel with support for both Dolby Vision and HDR10+. It also features Amazon’s Omnisense technology, which utilizes sensors to automatically activate the Ambient Experience when you enter the room and deactivate it when you exit. The TV supports Wi-Fi 6 and operates on the updated Fire TV software Amazon introduced earlier this year, offering faster navigation and up to 30% improved performance over the previous version.
Pre-orders are currently open in the US and Canada, with the 55-inch model priced at $899 and the 65-inch model at $1,099. The price includes your choice of one of 10 magnetic frames, with additional frames available for $74.99 or $84.99, depending on the size. Shipping is set to commence on April 22.
