Amazon has improved its best budget streaming stick, now priced at $35.
Amazon has just updated one of its most favored streaming devices. The new Fire TV Stick HD is now available, and it is the most compact Fire TV device that Amazon has produced to date. Priced at $34.99, it can be preordered now and will ship on April 29.
What are the updates with the Fire TV Stick HD, and how does it differ?
The latest model is approximately 30% slimmer than its predecessor. It fits easily into the tight space behind your TV and utilizes a short USB-C cable that directly connects to your TV’s USB port for power, eliminating the need for an additional wall adapter. However, if your TV lacks a USB port, a standard USB-C charger can serve as a suitable alternative.
Performance enhancements have been made in the new Fire TV Stick HD. Amazon claims that this updated stick is over 30% faster than the former HD model, resulting in quicker app loads and a more responsive overall experience.
Additionally, it now supports Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.3 for increased connectivity. The redesigned Fire TV interface, introduced earlier this year, features improved organization across movies, TV shows, live content, sports, and news.
What additional features does the new Fire TV Stick HD offer?
With Alexa+ integrated into the stick for users in the US, Canada, and the UK, you can request show suggestions, find out about actors while viewing, or control smart home devices using your voice.
In the coming months, an Adaptive Display accessibility feature will be introduced. This feature will enlarge text, menus, and on-screen elements while proportionately resizing artwork for a more balanced experience. Various size options will also be available for added personalization.
The stick will be available starting April 29 in the US, UK, Canada, Mexico, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand, with more regions expected to be added shortly after.
