TCL's NXTPAPER 70 Pro has finally arrived in the US, and it is priced at just $199.
TCL has introduced its most eye-friendly smartphone to the US market, and it comes at an affordable price.
When TCL unveiled the NXTPAPER 70 Pro at MWC 2026, we announced that it would be arriving in the United States in April. That time has arrived, and the NXTPAPER 70 Pro is now officially available at T-Mobile and Metro by T-Mobile for $199.99, which is about half the price that customers in Europe are paying for the same device.
The exclusive deal from T-Mobile likely accounts for the price reduction, but regardless of the reasoning, this is an opportunity you won't want to overlook.
The standout feature of this phone is NXTPAPER 4.0, TCL’s unique eye-friendly display technology. The 6.9-inch FHD+ 120Hz screen minimizes glare, significantly reduces blue light emission to as low as 3.41%, eliminates flickering, and also features an ultra-low 1-nit brightness option for nighttime usage.
What are the three display modes, and why are they important?
The phone includes a dedicated NXTPAPER Key that allows you to switch between three display modes with a single press. Color Paper Mode is designed for everyday activities, such as streaming, browsing, and photography.
Ink Paper Mode softens the display for extended reading sessions, minimizing glare and distractions. Max Ink Mode transforms the screen into a near e-reader experience, while avoiding the sluggishness typically associated with actual e-ink displays.
Additionally, the device supports the T-Pen stylus, enabling users to take notes, sketch, or annotate documents directly on its comfortable display.
Is the rest of the phone a good investment?
I believe it is. The smartphone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300, accompanied by 8GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. The 5,200mAh battery can easily last throughout the day, and with 33W fast charging, recharging should be quick.
As for the camera, it features a 50MP main lens with OIS, an 8MP ultrawide lens, and a 32MP front-facing camera for selfies and video calls. While it may not be extraordinary, it provides good value for the price.
Previously, NXTPAPER smartphones were unavailable in the US. Now, not only has TCL addressed this issue, but it has also managed to offer the phone for $199.99, compared to approximately $320 in Europe for the base model.
