      Recently, dummy models of the iPhone Fold, iPhone 18 Pro, and iPhone 18 Pro Max have emerged, largely affirming prior leaks. Apple is not creating another tall, slender foldable; rather, it's producing a book-style foldable that aims to enhance the tablet experience when opened.

      Examining the dummies, the iPhone Fold exhibits a notably wide and compact design, making it shorter and wider than anything in Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold series, and is more similar to the original Pixel Fold. When unfolded, it essentially resembles a small landscape iPad.

      The dummy models of the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max have a more recognizable appearance, featuring a triple-camera setup on the back and a central MagSafe ring. There’s a suggestion of a smaller Dynamic Island, though that remains uncertain.

      According to previous CAD renderings, the iPhone Fold is equipped with a camera island comprising two cameras, an LED flash, and a microphone. Reports indicate it will have a substantial internal 7.8-inch display and a 5.3-inch cover display.

      The cover display is rounded with a center hole-punch cutout, a first for the iPhone. When opened, the device reveals a large foldable display extending to the rounded corners, framed by slim bezels and featuring a hole-punch camera in the top-left corner.

      The dummy models do not show any cutouts for the punch-hole cameras, so the precise size of the cutout remains unverified.

      When will it be available?

      Reports indicate that Foxconn has already started early-stage trial production, with suppliers anticipating a launch in the second half of 2026.

      However, analyst Tim Long believes the iPhone Fold will be revealed during Apple’s September event alongside the iPhone 18 Pro, but shipping may not commence until December.

      Apple is also reportedly integrating foldable-specific functionalities into iOS 27, which includes support for split-screen and a multitasking experience reminiscent of the iPad.
