Claude AI can now access emails, files, and perform tasks on your computer.

With Microsoft 365 integration now available to all users and computer functionality arriving on Windows, Claude is intentionally stepping into your everyday work life.

Claude has been steadily enhancing its features, and this weekend unveiled two updates that deepen the AI assistant's integration into your workflow and across various devices.

What has Claude connected to recently?

Firstly, Microsoft 365 integration is now accessible across all Claude plans, not limited to the premium versions. This update is particularly significant for professional users, as they can now directly connect their Outlook, OneDrive, and SharePoint accounts to their Claude workspace.

This allows users to pull emails, documents, and files directly into their chat with Claude, eliminating the need to download them from the respective apps first. Even those on the free plan can now connect their inbox and file storage to Claude.

In my view, this change provides a substantial productivity enhancement to a much broader audience.

Is Claude taking command of your Windows PC?

The second announcement is relevant for anyone following Claude’s computer use capabilities. This feature enables the AI assistant to open applications, navigate web browsers, fill out spreadsheets, and manage desktop tasks autonomously, and it is now available on Windows through Claude Cowork and Claude Code Desktop.

Essentially, Windows users can now allow Claude to take control on their devices. Together, these two updates demonstrate Anthropic’s intent to transform the AI assistant from a premium chatbot with restricted access to its most powerful features into a more active contributor to your daily workflow.

The integration with Microsoft’s operating system and functionality directly on a Windows PC addresses two major gaps in Claude’s everyday usefulness, even for those on the free plan. These updates are part of the company's ambitious roadmap for 2026. This year alone, we’ve seen Claude Cowork launch in January, a plugin marketplace introduced in February, and Memory made free for all users in March.
