The next version of one of the top camera phones of 2025 now has an official launch date.
Oppo's upcoming Ultra-tier flagship is scheduled to make its global debut next month, and the camera hardware appears quite promising.
Oppo is preparing to unveil its next Ultra-tier flagship, the Find X9 Ultra. In recent weeks, the company has hinted at crucial details about the device, particularly highlighting its camera system. It has now announced a global launch set for late next month.
When will the Find X9 Ultra be released?
Oppo revealed the launch date in a recent X post, stating that the Find X9 Ultra will be globally introduced on April 21. Although the post doesn't provide extensive information, it does showcase the phone’s back panel featuring a purple finish and a circular camera module with gold accents.
The post reinforces Oppo's focus on cameras by presenting the device as a camera rather than a phone, using the tagline: “Your next camera is ready to launch.” This messaging aligns with recent previews that have centered largely on the camera hardware.
What distinguishes the Find X9 Ultra’s cameras?
Oppo has confirmed that the Find X9 Ultra will come with a high-end quad-camera configuration, highlighted by a 50MP f/3.5 periscope telephoto lens featuring 10x optical zoom. The company claims this zoom lens will provide gimbal-level optical image stabilization while being more compact than previous periscope designs.
In addition, the phone is expected to house a 200MP primary sensor, a second 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide camera. Similar to other models in the Find X9 series, the Find X9 Ultra’s cameras will be fine-tuned in collaboration with Hasselblad.
What additional features are anticipated for the Find X9 Ultra?
In addition to its remarkable camera capabilities, leaks indicate that the Find X9 Ultra will be equipped with top-tier flagship specifications throughout. It is anticipated to sport a 6.82-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, combined with Qualcomm's Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, up to 16GB of RAM, and 512GB of storage.
Reports also suggest a large battery exceeding 7,000mAh, with support for 100W wired and 50W wireless charging. Oppo has yet to verify these specifics, and pricing details remain undisclosed. More information is expected to emerge in the lead-up to the launch.

Its usage can be frustrating, particularly for those unfamiliar with its operations. It’s the kind of app that theoretically sounds useful but can feel burdensome in real-world use. However, this situation may be about to improve. With iOS 27 and Apple’s advancements in AI, there’s genuine potential for Shortcuts to become much more intuitive and enjoyable, rather than something users try to avoid unless absolutely necessary.
iOS 27 and AI might be just what Shortcuts needed.
