Samsung's AirDrop feature is no longer limited to flagship models — the budget Galaxy A-series phones are officially next in line, bridging the gap between file sharing on Android and iPhone.

AirDrop has historically been exclusive to iPhones, offering a quick and efficient method for transferring files between iPhones, iPads, and Macs (unless it decides to malfunction occasionally). Android users have observed this from the sidelines for years, but that is changing rapidly.

Last year, Google integrated AirDrop compatibility into its Quick Share platform, which first appeared on the Pixel 10 series. The Galaxy S26 series was the initial Samsung lineup to adopt this feature. However, Samsung is now expanding the functionality further across its smartphone range, with the more affordable Galaxy A series set to receive it next.

GalaxyClub discovered the "Share with Apple devices" option on several non-flagship Samsung smartphones following the installation of the updated version of Quick Share (13.8.51.58), Quick Share Agent (3.5.22.24), and Quick Share Connectivity (1.5.13.15) from the Galaxy Store.

The smartphones confirmed to receive AirDrop include the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A55, which are solid mid-range devices that usually sell for much less than flagship prices. Interestingly, older Galaxy S series flagships, including the S22, S23, S24, and S25, are also on the confirmed list.

If you own any of the mentioned Galaxy smartphones, you can technically enable AirDrop compatibility in Quick Share. However, you will need to sideload the Quick Share Extension (1.0.874307641) and the aforementioned extensions (all three) to activate the feature on supported phones.

That said, reliable file transfers to iPhones are still not functioning consistently, particularly outside of the Galaxy S26 series. Curiously, the newly launched Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G are completely absent from the list, despite running One UI 8.5.

Apple is already advancing to its next increment, having rolled out iOS 26.4 on the stable channel just a week ago. The company has now released the first developer beta of iOS 26.5, providing an early glimpse of the forthcoming updates.

A new Transit mode is being introduced for Pixel devices, allowing the phone to automatically adjust essential settings for a quieter and more focused ride during commutes without requiring user input. This feature is part of Google's latest Pixel feature drop and exists alongside modes like Do Not Disturb and Driving. The uniqueness of this mode lies in its activation, as it can turn on automatically once configured, offering a hands-free solution for regular commuters.

Recently, a feature labeled Apple Intelligence appeared on iPhones running the iOS 26.5 developer beta, showcasing settings for Apple Intelligence and Siri that were already localized. The absence of a public announcement from Apple gave this sudden appearance a leak-like feel. It was short-lived, indicating it was not approved for release in the region.
