Following the Galaxy S26, Samsung will introduce iPhone AirDrop compatibility to its budget Galaxy A series.
Samsung's AirDrop feature is no longer limited to flagship models — budget Galaxy A-series smartphones are officially the next in line, bridging the gap between Android and iPhone file sharing.
AirDrop has been an exclusive feature for iPhones, offering a smooth, fast, and efficient method for transferring files among iPhones, iPads, and Macs (except when it occasionally fails). Android users have been observing from a distance for years, but this is rapidly changing.
Last year, Google integrated AirDrop compatibility into its Quick Share platform, debuting it on the Pixel 10 series. The Galaxy S26 series became the first Samsung range to adopt this feature. However, Samsung is now expanding this feature throughout its smartphone lineup, with its budget Galaxy A series set to receive it next.
According to GalaxyClub, several non-flagship Samsung phones now have the “Share with Apple devices” option after the installation of the updated Quick Share version (13.8.51.58), Quick Share Agent (3.5.22.24), and Quick Share Connectivity (1.5.13.15) from the Galaxy Store.
The smartphones on this list include the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A55, which are Samsung's reliable mid-range devices that generally cost significantly less than flagship models. Interestingly, older Galaxy S series flagships such as the S22, S23, S24, and S25 also appear on the confirmed list.
If you own one of the Galaxy smartphones mentioned above, you can technically enable AirDrop compatibility in Quick Share. However, this requires sideloading the Quick Share Extension (1.0.874307641) along with the previously mentioned three extensions to activate the feature on compatible devices.
That said, file transfers to iPhones are still not consistently functioning, particularly for devices outside the Galaxy S26 series. Notably, the newly released Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G are completely missing from the list, despite running One UI 8.5.
