Samsung's AirDrop feature is no longer limited to flagship devices — budget Galaxy A-series smartphones are now officially included, bridging the gap between file sharing on Android and iPhone.

For a long time, AirDrop has been exclusive to iPhones — providing a quick, seamless method to transfer files between iPhones, iPads, and Macs (though it occasionally malfunctions). Android users have observed from the sidelines for years, but that is rapidly changing.

Last year, Google integrated AirDrop compatibility into its Quick Share platform, initially introduced with the Pixel 10 series. The Galaxy S26 series was the first Samsung lineup to adopt this feature. Now, Samsung is expanding this functionality across its smartphone range, with the Galaxy A series being the next to benefit.

According to GalaxyClub, the “Share with Apple devices” option has been found on several non-flagship Samsung devices after users updated Quick Share (version 13.8.51.58), Quick Share Agent (3.5.22.24), and Quick Share Connectivity (1.5.13.15) from the Galaxy Store.

The budget smartphones receiving AirDrop include the Galaxy A56, Galaxy A36, and Galaxy A55, which are solid mid-range options usually priced below flagship models. Notably, older Galaxy S series flagships, such as the S22, S23, S24, and S25, have also been confirmed for compatibility.

If you own one of the Galaxy smartphones in this category, you can technically enable AirDrop through Quick Share. However, you will need to sideload the Quick Share Extension (1.0.874307641) along with the three updated components mentioned earlier to activate this feature on compatible phones.

Nonetheless, file transfers to iPhones are not yet consistently functioning, particularly outside the Galaxy S26 series. Interestingly, the newly launched Galaxy A37 5G and A57 5G are notably absent from the list, despite running One UI 8.5.

Apple is already preparing for its next minor update. Just a week after releasing iOS 26.4, the company has launched the first developer beta of iOS 26.5, offering a glimpse at forthcoming features.

In the iOS 26.5 beta 1, new characteristics are minimal, but it introduces Suggested Places in Apple Maps alongside hints of upcoming changes.

Your Pixel phone has improved its ability to handle your daily commute independently with a new Transit mode that modifies key settings when you’re on a train, minimizing distractions without user intervention. This update is part of Google’s latest Pixel feature drop and works in conjunction with other modes such as Do Not Disturb and Driving. What distinguishes Transit mode is its automatic activation, making it a more convenient choice for frequent travelers.

A feature called Apple Intelligence appeared prematurely in China but was quickly removed, exposing ongoing regulatory challenges for Apple's AI ambitions. The functionality showed up on iPhones using the iOS 26.5 developer beta, with localized screenshots indicating the presence of Apple Intelligence and Siri settings. Apple's lack of formal announcement made the sudden appearance resemble a leak rather than a release. Its swift removal indicates it had not been cleared for deployment in that region.
