Sony will not reintroduce the Vita, but Anbernic has.
Anbernic's latest handheld resembles a revival of the PS Vita
Anbernic has just introduced the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro, two handheld gaming consoles that draw design inspiration from the PS Vita. With a wide layout, button placement, and overall style, these devices pay tribute to Sony's last true portable console.
However, they aren't mere copies; instead, they provide a contemporary interpretation of the Vita concept.

RG Vita and Vita Pro Specifications from Anbernic
The lineup features two versions: the RG Vita and RG Vita Pro.
The standard RG Vita is a more budget-friendly option, equipped with a 5.46-inch IPS display at 720p resolution, driven by a Unisoc T618 chipset, and paired with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. In contrast, the RG Vita Pro boasts a slightly taller 1080p IPS display, a more powerful Rockchip RK3576 processor, 4GB of RAM, and the same expandable storage capability via microSD.
Both models come with a 5,000mAh battery, promising several hours of gameplay.
Designed for retro gaming, but not confined to the past
Anbernic RG Vita Pro from Anbernic
Anbernic's new RG Vita series is a nod to a golden era in gaming, but it goes beyond mere nostalgia.
These consoles support Android (and Linux on the Pro), enabling them to run Android games and emulators for systems like the PS2, PSP, GameCube, and more. As a result, they offer greater versatility than their original inspiration. Anbernic is also incorporating contemporary features such as WiFi, Bluetooth, USB-C output, and AI-based functionalities like real-time translation and in-game assistance tools.
That being said, this is not intended to be a direct successor to the PS Vita. The performance is geared more towards emulation and casual Android gaming rather than handling modern AAA titles.
Anbernic has not yet revealed the official pricing, but these devices are anticipated to fall within the budget to mid-range handheld category.
