Today marks a series of updates within the Apple ecosystem as we approach the major annual upgrades set to be announced at WWDC 2026 in June. In addition to iOS 26.4 and macOS 26.4, Apple has released the watchOS 26.4 update for its smartwatch lineup. Here’s what you can expect on your wrist.

The primary reason I frequently return to the Apple Watch is for the workouts, and this latest update improves that experience substantially. The workout type icon serves as a clear and prominent entry point for each workout, and it functions just as expected. Now, by tapping the workout type, you can dive right in, making the start of your workout much more intuitive.

Additionally, Apple has expanded the emoji keyboard to include eight new options: an orca, a trombone, a treasure chest, a fuzzy creature, a landslide, a ballet dancer, and a warped face. Moreover, Apple has ironed out issues with bug fixes, enhancing the overall experience for daily use.

How to install this update on your Apple Watch?

To upgrade your Apple Watch to watchOS 26.4, follow these steps. First, ensure your watch is charged to at least 50% and connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.

      1. Open the Settings app on your Apple Watch.

      2. Tap General, then select Software Update.

      3. If the update is available, tap Install.

During the installation process, enter your passcode and follow the on-screen prompts. Your watch will take care of the rest. If you'd prefer to avoid the smaller screen on the Apple Watch, you can update through your iPhone. Open the Watch app on your iPhone, go to General, tap Software Update, and install the update if it's available. Remember to charge your Apple Watch to at least 50% before you start.

After a period away from the American market due to a patent issue, Ultrahuman has cleared US Customs and Border Protection and is now officially available for purchase again. This is great news for US customers, as Ultrahuman is among the few smart rings that offer access to all tracking data without a subscription requirement. Additionally, the first customers can buy it at a significant discount.
