Following the announcement for players to request refunds, Crimson Desert will now provide support for Intel Arc.

Pearl Abyss has reversed its stance on Intel Arc support, now confirming that it is in development.

The launch of Crimson Desert did not go well for Intel Arc GPU users. Despite being a AAA title that showcased impressive polish, it did not offer compatibility with Intel Arc graphics at all.

If you looked for answers in the FAQ, Pearl Abyss simply advised seeking a refund.

Understandably, this reaction did not sit well with the gaming community. Now, the studio is changing its direction and has announced that Intel Arc support is officially being developed, signifying a significant shift in their position.

Regarding #CrimsonDesert support for Intel Arc: "We are currently working on compatibility and optimization support so that Crimson Desert can also be enjoyed on Intel Arc GPU systems. We aim to provide smooth and stable gameplay, and we appreciate your patience..." — Crimson Desert (@CrimsonDesert_) March 23, 2026

The community's backlash clearly had an effect.

The issue gained attention immediately after the release, with users expressing their frustration over the lack of support. This was especially surprising given that Intel had been collaborating with the studio during development and had reportedly offered drivers and engineering assistance for supporting Arc GPUs.

In response to the swift backlash, the developers issued an apology.

      What caused the initial issue?

At launch, Crimson Desert would not function on Intel Arc GPUs, displaying an "unsupported hardware" error. This wasn't a minor glitch or performance problem; the complete incompatibility was unexpected. It impacted both discrete Arc cards and Intel's integrated graphics.

The decision raised concerns right away, especially considering the widespread use of Intel's integrated GPUs in laptops and PCs. Fortunately, Pearl Abyss has now pledged to resolve the issue. While they have confirmed active work on compatibility updates, performance optimizations, and ensuring a "smooth and stable gameplay experience" on Arc GPUs, a specific timeline for when this support will be available has not yet been provided.
