ChatGPT is receiving a significant update to enhance file management capabilities.
A new Library tab and Recent files menu are designed to simplify the process of locating, reusing, and managing files across ChatGPT conversations.
OpenAI is addressing one of the most frustrating aspects of file handling in ChatGPT. The company is introducing two new features to assist users in quickly accessing previously uploaded files, specifically a Recent files menu and a dedicated Library tab.
How do the new file management features in ChatGPT operate?
Previously, files in ChatGPT were mostly associated with individual conversations, which made locating them a challenge, as it often required going back to the original chat and sifting through lengthy threads. The new Recent files option in the attachment menu now showcases some of the files you have used most recently, streamlining the process of returning to ongoing tasks without having to search through older chats.
Finding, reusing, and building on the files you upload and create in ChatGPT is now simpler. You can quickly refer to files in a chat using the recent files feature in the toolbar, inquire ChatGPT about something you've uploaded, or explore your files through the new Library tab in the web sidebar.
Additionally, OpenAI mentions that ChatGPT can respond to questions about files you have already uploaded, eliminating the need to reupload them each time for further insights. These updates enhance the speed and ease of file reuse, particularly for those who frequently manage files across various sessions.
Who will gain access, and when?
The update is being rolled out worldwide to ChatGPT Plus, Pro, and Business subscribers. Users in the EU, Switzerland, and the UK will have to wait slightly longer, with these regions expecting access soon. There has been no announcement yet regarding the availability of these features for the free version.
With these updates, OpenAI is continuing to establish ChatGPT as more than just a chatbot, progressively transforming it into a tool for managing ongoing work across conversations.

Gemini, ChatGPT, and other AI chatbots often produce similar responses, which raises concerns about human creativity.
A new study indicates that most chatbots yield remarkably similar answers, fostering worries about creative thinking. AI chatbots are intended to enhance your creativity rather than limit it. However, recent research suggests that relying on them too much may have the opposite effect. A study published in Engineering Applications of Artificial Intelligence reveals that leading models like Gemini, GPT, and Llama often converge on similar conceptual areas when handling creative tasks. Though many individual responses may appear original and helpful, a broader view shows a different trend—the outputs start to align across numerous prompts and users.

A new AI assesses whether your driving habits indicate a risk of crashing.
Researchers claim that eye tracking, heart rate, and personality data can identify risks early.
A new AI model addresses a question most drivers tend to overlook until it’s too late: how likely are you to crash before you even start the engine? The system analyzes your behavior while driving, incorporating signals such as eye movement, heart rate, and personality traits to detect warning signs early. Instead of waiting for real-world mistakes to occur, it utilizes simulated driving tests to identify behaviors linked to dangerous outcomes.
