Adzuna acquires the job segments of Trovit and Mitula.
The UK job search platform has purchased the employment divisions of two multi-category classifieds aggregators from Lifull Connect, enhancing its footprint in Spain, Italy, and Latin America as its Japanese parent company divests non-real estate assets. Adzuna has taken over the job verticals of Trovit and Mitula from Lifull Connect, a digital classifieds organization owned by the Japanese real estate firm Lifull.
This agreement, revealed today, marks Adzuna's third acquisition in four years, following its acquisition of the US job search engine Getwork in June 2022 and the social media recruitment platform Seiza in November 2024. The transaction specifically pertains to the job search divisions of both platforms. Trovit and Mitula function as multi-category aggregators, covering jobs, real estate, and automotive sectors in over 50 countries; their real estate and automotive segments will remain with Lifull Connect.
Adzuna reports that the job divisions are now fully merged, with the existing Trovit Jobs and Mitula Jobs sites redirecting automatically to Adzuna, while subscribers are migrated with their saved searches and alerts. Trovit was established in 2006 in Barcelona and was acquired by Lifull for €80 million in November 2014. Mitula, which also originated in Spain but went public in Australia starting from 2015, was purchased by Lifull for €118 million in December 2018.
In January 2019, the two companies were unified under the Lifull Connect brand, which has since managed them alongside a growing portfolio of real estate portals across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe, operating in over 50 countries. For Lifull Connect, the divestiture of the job sectors aligns with a strategic shift that has been ongoing for over a year, particularly after spinning off from its publicly traded Japanese parent in January 2025 and entrusting operational control to the management team behind FazWaz, its Thailand-based property agency.
This transition follows a period of decreasing revenue within Lifull Connect's aggregation sector. With Adzuna acquiring the job verticals and the company’s real estate portals accounting for the majority of its remaining business activities, Lifull Connect is effectively retracting to the sectors where it can allocate capital justifiably. Carlos Ruiz Comes, Vertical Search General Manager at Lifull Connect, described the transaction as aligning with “the right player in the jobs sector” as the group refines its focus on real estate.
Doug Monro, CEO and co-founder of Adzuna, presented the acquisition as a means to extend its AI search technology to millions of new users across Europe, the US, Asia, and Latin America. Founded in 2011 by Monro and Andrew Hunter, both formerly associated with Gumtree, Adzuna is supported by Index Ventures, LocalGlobe, and Smedvig Capital. It now operates in over 20 countries and is developing AI-driven job matching tools, including ApplyIQ, an automated job application service launched in April 2025. The job markets from Trovit and Mitula, especially in Spain and Italy where both brands have a strong presence, grant Adzuna access to traffic and user data in regions where it has had a historically limited presence. The financial details of the transaction have not been revealed.
