The UK job search platform has acquired the employment segments of two multi-category classifieds aggregators from Lifull Connect, strengthening its position in Spain, Italy, and Latin America as its Japanese parent company divests from non-real-estate holdings.

Adzuna has taken over the job verticals of Trovit and Mitula from Lifull Connect, a digital classifieds company owned by the Japanese real estate firm Lifull.

This deal, announced today, marks Adzuna's third acquisition in the past four years, following its acquisition of the US job search engine Getwork in June 2022 and the social media recruitment platform Seiza in November 2024.

The transaction pertains solely to the employment search sections of both platforms. Trovit and Mitula operate as multi-vertical aggregators in jobs, real estate, and automotive sectors across more than 50 countries, while their real estate and automotive segments remain under Lifull Connect.

Adzuna reports that the jobs operations are now fully integrated, with the existing Trovit Jobs and Mitula Jobs sites automatically redirecting to Adzuna, and subscribers being transitioned along with their saved searches and alerts.

Trovit was established in 2006 in Barcelona and was acquired by Lifull for €80 million in November 2014. Mitula, also originally from Spain but publicly traded in Australia since 2015, was purchased by Lifull for €118 million in December 2018.

In January 2019, the two companies merged under the Lifull Connect brand, which has since managed them alongside a growing portfolio of real estate websites across Southeast Asia, Latin America, and Europe. This combined entity operates in over 50 countries.

For Lifull Connect, the sale of the job segments aligns with a strategic shift that has been in progress for more than a year. The company separated from its publicly listed Japanese parent in January 2025, transferring operational control to the management team behind FazWaz, its Thailand-based property brokerage.

This transition followed a decline in revenue within Lifull Connect's aggregation business. With Adzuna acquiring the jobs sectors, and the company’s real estate portals generating the majority of its remaining commercial activities, Lifull Connect is essentially retreating to the sectors where it can allocate resources more effectively.

Carlos Ruiz Comes, Vertical Search General Manager at Lifull Connect, described the acquisition as partnering with “the right player in the jobs domain” as the group intensifies its focus on real estate.

Doug Monro, Adzuna’s CEO and co-founder, positioned the acquisition as a means to extend its AI search technology to millions of new users across Europe, the US, Asia, and Latin America.

Founded in 2011 by Monro and Andrew Hunter, both former Gumtree employees, Adzuna is backed by Index Ventures, LocalGlobe, and Smedvig Capital. It now functions in over 20 countries and has been developing AI-powered job matching tools, including ApplyIQ, an automated job application tool launched in April 2025.

The job databases from Trovit and Mitula, especially in Spain and Italy where both brands have established presence, offer Adzuna traffic and user insights in markets where its footprint has traditionally been smaller.

The financial specifics of the transaction have not been disclosed.
