LICURV investigates quick kitchen cleaning featuring a compact dishwasher with a five-second wash cycle.
As conventional dishwasher products maintain a focus on large capacity and built-in designs, there is a growing trend in the market towards smaller and more immediate cleaning solutions. The Chinese tech startup LICURV has launched a compact dishwasher that aims to provide a different option for home kitchens with its unique technical design.
According to the company, it can clean a single plate in approximately five seconds, contrasting with the 30 minutes to two hours usually needed for a complete cycle in standard dishwashers.
The key feature of this product is its fast cleaning mechanism. It employs a water-flow technology called cavitation jetting, where high-speed water creates tiny bubbles. When these bubbles burst on the surfaces of tableware, they generate localized micro-jets that assist in removing stuck-on residues. The system, combined with water temperatures around 75°C, reportedly allows for efficient cleaning in certain cases without additional detergents, also providing some degree of sterilization. Unlike conventional dishwashers, which often take many minutes per cycle, this device emphasizes the quick cleaning of individual items.
In terms of dimensions, the compact dishwasher occupies a relatively small space, measuring about 30 to 40 centimeters on each side. It can be connected to a faucet or utilized with an external water tank, which simplifies installation requirements.
Moreover, the device boasts a plug-and-play, portable design that doesn’t need complicated setup and can easily be placed on a countertop. The company targets this product for use in small kitchens, rental apartments, or office spaces with limited space, as well as for single-person households and small families.
In addition to washing tableware, the device includes modes for cleaning fruits and vegetables, and small items like teaware and baking utensils. The fruit and vegetable mode operates at lower water pressure and temperatures around 45°C to help minimize potential surface damage while enabling quick rinsing.
However, user feedback indicates that the product still has areas needing improvement. Some dishes may have water residue left on their surfaces, and the cleaning times could be extended for heavily soiled items. Overall, this compact appliance acts more as an instant cleaning tool rather than a traditional full dishwasher solution.
As kitchen appliances increasingly lean towards compact and scenario-specific designs, products like this demonstrate new efforts in the industry to explore varied formats. These devices seek to bridge the gap between standard full-size dishwashers and manual washing, offering a potential solution for quick, small-scale cleaning. However, their market success will likely hinge on multiple factors, including technological reliability, actual cleaning efficacy, product pricing, and consumers' acceptance of new kitchen tools.
