LICURV investigates immediate kitchen cleaning through a compact dishwasher that offers a five-second wash.

      As traditional dishwasher products maintain a focus on large capacity and built-in installations, new market trends are emerging with smaller and more immediate cleaning solutions. The Chinese tech startup LICURV has unveiled a compact dishwasher that aims to provide a different approach for household kitchens through innovative technical design.

      According to the company, it takes about five seconds to clean a single plate, in contrast to the 30 minutes to two hours typically needed for a full cycle in conventional dishwashers.

      The main feature of this product is its rapid cleaning system. It employs a water-flow technology called cavitation jetting, where high-speed water generates tiny bubbles. When these bubbles burst against the surface of dishes, they produce localized micro-jets that assist in removing stuck residues. Coupled with water temperatures around 75°C, the system reportedly achieves relatively efficient cleaning in specific scenarios without requiring additional detergents and also offers some level of sterilization. Unlike traditional dishwashers that usually take several minutes per cycle, this device emphasizes quick cleaning of individual items.

      In terms of design, the compact dishwasher has a small footprint, measuring approximately 30 to 40 centimeters on each side. It can be connected directly to a tap or used with an external water tank, simplifying installation.

      Additionally, the device features a plug-and-play, portable design that requires no complicated installation and can be placed directly on the countertop. The company targets its product for use in small kitchens, rental apartments, or office spaces with limited room, as well as for singles and small families.

      Beyond cleaning tableware, the device includes modes for washing fruits and vegetables, along with small items like teaware and baking tools. The fruit and vegetable mode operates with lower water pressure and water temperatures around 45°C to help minimize potential damage to produce while allowing for quick rinsing.

      However, user feedback indicates that there are areas for improvement. Some water residue may remain on dishes, and cleaning times can be extended when addressing heavily soiled items. Overall, this compact device is more akin to an immediate cleaning tool rather than a complete dishwasher solution in the traditional sense.

      As kitchen appliances increasingly evolve towards more compact and scenario-specific designs, products like this showcase the industry's efforts to investigate various product formats. These devices aim to bridge the gap between traditional full-size dishwashers and manual washing, potentially offering a solution for quick, small-batch cleaning.
