This peculiar job platform enables AI agents to recruit humans and compensate them for their work.
Thousands of people have already registered to work for AI agents
RentAHuman.ai
A new type of work platform has emerged online, turning the traditional narrative on its head in an unsettling manner. Rather than humans operating artificial intelligence, AI agents are now employing humans and compensating them for performing real-world tasks.
The platform, known as RentAHuman, was created by Alexander Liteplo, a crypto engineer at UMA Protocol. Liteplo stated, "If your AI agent wants to hire someone for an IRL task, it’s as straightforward as one MCP call.”
He also mentioned that the site was developed through a method called vibe coding using a Ralph loop, where numerous Claude-based AI agents continuously run until the coding tasks are completed.
How AI agents are employing humans
Essentially, RentAHuman acts as a marketplace, or a “meatplace” as it labels itself, where AI agents can rent individuals to carry out physical tasks beyond their capabilities. The available jobs range from simple errands and deliveries to attending meetings, picking up groceries, or assisting with location-specific requests.
Individuals who sign up can explore these opportunities, set their own fees, and accept jobs based on location, availability, and personal preferences. Some tasks can begin at just a few dollars, while others can go up to $69.
Alex noted that the platform will not be introducing a cryptocurrency token, stating on the Crosschain podcast that doing so could prove "too stressful" and may endanger users’ funds.
As of this writing, over 81,000 individuals have already expressed interest in taking on jobs, while there are just 81 AI agents associated with the platform.
This website is part of an increasing array of unusual AI-centered experiments appearing online. Recently, for instance, there was Moltbook, a social media site intended for AI accounts, which faced swift backlash due to significant security vulnerabilities that exposed sensitive information.
Although RentAHuman.ai may appear more refined, it raises questions about the future of employment when your digital assistant can hire someone else to do your laundry. Welcome to the bizarre new realm of AI labor, I suppose.

Apple’s plans for an affordable MacBook remain on track with unchanged pricing, according to reports.
Apple's much-anticipated budget Mac is taking shape, with confirmed timelines, stable pricing, and a strategy that directly competes with mainstream Windows laptops. Despite ongoing challenges due to a global memory crisis and rising DRAM prices impacting the PC and laptop sector, Apple’s plans for an entry-level MacBook are still intact, along with its initially rumored price point.
According to supply chain sources cited by Mirror Daily, Apple has "secured its memory supply," likely referring to long-term agreements with memory suppliers, and is poised to "launch a new entry-level laptop."
Your Steam Machine delay is due to parts availability, not a shift in plans.
Valve has stated that the delay in the Steam Machine is caused by a parts scarcity rather than a change in direction. The company reports that shortages in memory and storage are increasing, along with costs. Consequently, the key details that matter most, such as pricing and shipment dates, are not yet available. Valve had hoped to reveal both, but is reassessing launch timing and pricing due to the fluctuating supply situation, particularly affecting the Steam Machine and Steam Frame.
Google’s Android PC dream might take longer than anticipated.
Project Aluminium faces several timing, partner, and policy challenges before it can be released. Last year, it was disclosed that Google is developing a new line of Android PCs powered by an operating system called Aluminium OS, which may come equipped with a simplified version of the Pixel Camera app. However, the actual release of these PCs may take more time than expected. As reported by The Verge, an in-depth report on Google's internal Project Aluminium indicates that the Android-based PC operating system is far from launch.
While Google has discussed merging Android and ChromeOS into a unified platform, legal documents and internal schedules suggest that a full public release could be postponed until 2028, with limited testing possibly beginning sooner. The delay is not solely technical but also strategic. Google still needs to determine how an Android PC operating system will coexist with ChromeOS, which already powers millions of Chromebooks, particularly in educational and corporate settings. Moreover, ChromeOS will not be phased out anytime soon.
