A small yet impactful update from Microsoft simplifies one of the most frequent tasks in document editing: adding hyperlinks in Word.

The company is introducing a quicker and more efficient method for hyperlink insertion in Word. Rather than selecting text, accessing the Insert Link dialog, and entering a URL, users can now simply highlight text and paste the link over it; Word will automatically convert it into a hyperlink.

Whether you're on a Windows PC/laptop or a MacBook, just copy the desired link, highlight a word or phrase, and press Ctrl + V or Cmd + V, letting Word handle the rest.

Hyperlinking in Word has just become significantly quicker

Say goodbye to pop-ups, unnecessary menus, and interruptions to your writing flow, which is essential for anyone who spends hours daily working in word processing software. Previously, pasting a link over selected text would replace it entirely.

As noted in a Microsoft community post, this new hyperlinking feature is now accessible to all Word for Web users. It is also being rolled out to those using Word for Windows (version 2511, Build 19530.20006 or later) and Word for Mac (Version 16.104, Build 25120915 or later).

This update is beneficial for students, professionals, or anyone like me who produces articles and relies on the hyperlink feature hundreds of times daily. It streamlines the process of inserting references, Google Drive links, YouTube videos, or app store links into Word documents.

Though it may seem like a minor change, it addresses one of the most frustrating small issues in Word. If you've ever felt exasperated while repeatedly opening Word’s Insert Link box throughout the day, this new hyperlinking feature is for you.

Additionally, this enhancement improves the user experience, allowing Word to function more like a modern word processing application—faster and more intelligent.

Your Zenbook Duo’s smaller hinge gap creates a more seamless dual-screen experience.

The new hinge design aims to make the Zenbook Duo feel like a continuous workspace, with a slim 8.28 mm gap for those who work multitask across two displays.

Asus is enhancing the Zenbook Duo’s characteristic dual-display configuration with a reduced gap between screens at CES 2026. The primary enhancement is the hinge gap, now listed at 8.28 mm, which should minimize distractions when moving windows, timelines, and toolbars between screens.

This is crucial because dual-screen laptops can be effective until your gaze is disrupted by the seam. Closing the gap allows the Duo’s setup to start functioning more like a single expansive surface, particularly beneficial for split-screen tasks, like viewing notes on one panel and a document or browser on the other.
