OnePlus’ upcoming compact flagship may be released in April and is expected to feature a revolutionary battery.
A leak indicates that OnePlus may incorporate a 7,500mAh battery in the forthcoming OnePlus 15T.
While many smartphone manufacturers have shifted away from compact flagship models, OnePlus appears committed to sustaining this category. Last year, the company launched the OnePlus 13T as a more compact version of its flagship OnePlus 13, featuring high-end specifications in a smaller form. Now, a new leak suggests that OnePlus is preparing to introduce its successor.
According to a recent post by credible tipster Digital Chat Station on Weibo (via Playfuldroid), OnePlus may reveal the OnePlus 15T in April, coinciding with the launch of the OnePlus 13T last year. Although the company has not yet made an official announcement, the leaker has shared several key details about the device.
Similar to its predecessor, the OnePlus 15T is rumored to feature a 6.3-inch display with a 1.5K resolution, but it may support a higher peak refresh rate of 165Hz. The device is also expected to come with an upgraded 3D ultrasonic fingerprint sensor for quicker and more precise unlocking.
The OnePlus 15T may come equipped with an impressive 7,500mAh battery.
Additionally, the leak indicates that the OnePlus 15T will retain the same 50MP JN5 telephoto camera found in last year’s model, though information about the main and selfie cameras is still unclear. The battery is anticipated to be the most significant upgrade, increasing from 6,260mAh on the OnePlus 13T to over 7,000mAh, with OnePlus reportedly aiming for a capacity of 7,500mAh.
The OnePlus 15T is likely to feature Qualcomm’s latest flagship Snapdragon chipset. However, it remains uncertain whether OnePlus will use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 or the non-Elite Gen 5 SoC for this device.
There are currently no details available regarding international availability, but it is reasonable to assume that OnePlus may not release the device in all markets. This assumption is based on the fact that the company only launched its predecessor in China and offered a slightly downgraded version in India, referred to as the OnePlus 13s, which came with a smaller battery and a less capable selfie camera.
