YouTube now allows you to filter search results to display only Shorts.
Search filters on mobile and web now include a specific Shorts option.
YouTube is modifying its search filters to assist users in finding the videos they want more efficiently, without having to sift through irrelevant results. The most significant update is the introduction of a Shorts video type option that allows users to filter their search results to display only short-form content.
A recent announcement on YouTube’s support forum states that the search filters now feature a specific “Shorts” option within the Type menu, which refines results to short-form vertical videos. Additionally, YouTube has revised the Sort By menu to enhance overall functionality.
The Sort By menu has been retitled to “Prioritize,” and now includes a “Popularity” option rather than a “View count.” YouTube indicates that this new feature aims to help users find popular videos associated with their search by evaluating the view count and “other relevance signals, such as watch time, to gauge its popularity for that specific search.”
YouTube has also eliminated some options from the filter menu to create a more user-friendly experience and enhance the overall searching process. This includes the removal of the “Upload Date – Last Hour” and “Sort by Rating” filters, which the company noted “were not functioning as intended and contributed to user complaints.”
Finding the right video on YouTube is now simpler.
The Upload Date menu still offers four filters, enabling users to sort by the most recent uploads: Today, This week, This month, and This year. YouTube emphasizes that the new Popularity filter will serve a dual purpose, enabling users to discover popular, highly-viewed videos, effectively replacing the Sort by Rating option.
These changes to the filters are already active in the YouTube app for mobile devices and on the website. Users can access the new filters by clicking the Filters button located in the top-right corner of the search results page on the web, or by tapping the three-dot menu on the search results page on Android or iOS and selecting the Search filters option from the pop-up menu.

I’ve seen Avatar: Fire and Ash; here’s why it’s the franchise’s finest film.
Avatar: Fire and Ash surpasses its predecessors with new concepts, themes, and character developments.
James Cameron's latest sci-fi blockbuster, Avatar: Fire and Ash, has officially hit theaters, setting a new benchmark for the iconic Avatar series. This film continues the Na'vi's battle against the RDA on Pandora, as Jake (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) fight to safeguard their children from Col. Quaritch (Stephen Lang) and a fierce new Na'vi tribe.
While Avatar: Fire and Ash has its shortcomings, repeating numerous plot points from earlier films, those who are willing to endure the extensive three-plus-hour runtime will find that it stands as the franchise's best film in several important ways.
You can once again access movies purchased via Google Play and YouTube on Movies Anywhere.
You’ll need to reconnect your Google account to regain access.
The recent fallout between Disney and Google extended beyond YouTube TV subscribers losing access to all Disney channels. Disney also withdrew its entire movie catalog from Google TV and YouTube, discontinuing support for Google in its movie syncing service, Movies Anywhere.
Although the companies reached a settlement by November 14 that restored all Disney channels on YouTube TV, Disney did not relist its movies on Google’s digital platforms until the end of the previous month. Nearly a month later, users can now finally link their Google accounts to Movies Anywhere to regain access to movies purchased from Google Play and YouTube.
