TCL introduces the X11L SQD-Mini LED TV to confront the influx of RGB LED televisions.
Are your eyes prepared for peak brightness of 10,000 nits, 20,000 dimming zones, and pixel-level color precision?
TCL
The prominent topic at CES 2026 regarding the TV industry has been RGB or Micro RGB technology for display panels. Samsung and LG have been the leading names in this arena, and now TCL is also in the mix. However, the brand aims to distinguish itself with a unique type of television, one that paves the way for SQD-Mini LED TVs.
The key ingredients
The latest offering from TCL is the X11L SQD-Mini LED, available in sizes of 75, 85, and 98 inches, currently available for pre-order starting at $6,999 in the U.S. The core of the SQD-Mini LED technology features two essential components — Super Quantum Dots and the CSOT UltraColor Filter, which utilizes much smaller 5-nanometer color particles.
TCL
In a press briefing, TCL shared that the ultimate aim is to achieve exceptional pixel-level color accuracy. On the technical front, TCL boasts an impressive peak brightness of 10,000 nits, a contrast ratio of 7,000:1, and full coverage of the BT2020 color spectrum.
These televisions also incorporate a new Halo Control System that provides more precise management of dimming zones (20,000 in total) and bright areas, while minimizing the commonly encountered issue of color blooming. The outcome is a television that presents extremely sharp images, accurate colors, deep blacks, and high brightness.
What else is being offered?
The TCL X11L SQD-Mini LED TV features ultra-slim bezels and includes an in-house anti-reflective coating. Support for Dolby Vision 2.0 Max output will soon be added via a software update, and the audio design has been developed in partnership with Bang & Olufsen.
TCL
“For the first time, consumers can separately purchase an optional wireless subwoofer without the need for a full audio system or soundbar,” the company states. The entire cabinet measures just 0.8 inches thick with remarkably slim borders, placing it alongside LG’s latest Wallpaper TVs and Samsung’s 130-inch Micro RGB models. Google TV manages the software aspect, complete with full Gemini integration.

LG's new Gallery TV could finally offer a strong alternative to Samsung’s The Frame
This new television will be revealed at CES next year.
Samsung's The Frame may not be the top choice for picture quality, but it continues to be one of the most sought-after options for those who prioritize design. While several competitors have ventured into the realm of art-inspired TVs over the years, Samsung has consistently maintained a stronghold in this niche with minimal serious challengers. However, that dominance may soon face competition.
LG now seems poised to take on Samsung with a new canvas-style TV that will be presented at the upcoming CES 2026 trade show in Las Vegas. Aimed at seamlessly integrating into living spaces as a piece of art rather than a conventional TV, LG's forthcoming Gallery TV presents an aesthetic and features comparable to Samsung's model.
