Samsung's Freestyle+ projector will enhance your movie nights with a brighter image.
And a range of new AI features.
Samsung
Samsung introduced its first compact projector, the Freestyle, at CES in 2022, followed by a slight update the next year. The second-generation model incorporated a few extra features, with the highlight being the capability to link two projectors for an ultrawide display.
As we approach CES 2026, Samsung has teased an upcoming model that appears mostly similar on the outside but brings the most significant upgrade the lineup has seen yet. The new Freestyle+ will feature "smarter AI capabilities, enhanced brightness, and expanded entertainment functionalities," according to Samsung.
This projector will include a collection of AI-driven screen optimization technologies branded as AI OptiScreen, which comprises 3D Auto Keystone, real-time focus, screen fit, and wall calibration. These features will be complemented by Samsung’s Vision AI Companion, a customized platform that “merges upgraded Bixby with AI services from international partners to facilitate more natural, conversational interaction with content displayed on-screen.”
The Freestyle+ will provide nearly double the brightness.
Importantly, Samsung claims that the brightness of the Freestyle+ has been increased to 430 ISO Lumens, providing nearly twice the brightness of the previous generation. Other features are anticipated to stay largely the same, with the projector maintaining the same cylindrical design and a 180-degree rotating base.
The Freestyle+ will also feature an integrated 360-degree speaker that supports Samsung Q-Symphony. On the software side, the projector will include Samsung TV Plus, various streaming platforms, and Samsung Gaming Hub.
Details about pricing and availability are still unclear and are expected to be disclosed when Samsung presents the Freestyle+ at CES in Las Vegas next week. However, the company has confirmed that the projector will be launched globally with a phased rollout in the first half of the year. If Samsung sets the right price this time, the Freestyle+ could finally establish itself as one of the premier portable projectors of 2026.
