Quizzes will soon be available in WhatsApp channels.

WhatsApp is introducing a new feature for Channels that may provide admins with an additional way to engage with followers. This tool, which was identified in the latest beta version for iOS, allows admins to create multiple-choice quizzes, adding a more interactive element alongside current functionalities like polls.

The quiz function, initially found in an Android beta version last week, operates similarly to polls with one significant distinction. Unlike polls, quizzes necessitate that admins designate the correct answer prior to sharing it on the channel. When members select an answer, WhatsApp instantly indicates whether it is correct and displays a brief confetti animation for the correct choice.

As reported by WABetaInfo, channel admins can set up a quiz by accessing the attachment menu and choosing the new Quiz option. On the next screen, they can pose a question and provide several potential answers, which may include plain text, images, or a mix of both. Additionally, before finalizing the quiz, admins must select one answer as the correct one.

Admins receive comprehensive results from the quiz, detailing how many times each option was chosen and which members participated. For those in the admin's contacts, all pertinent information is visible, while for non-contacts, only limited details are displayed based on their privacy settings.

Quizzes are currently active for a select group of beta users.

The new Quiz function from WhatsApp is now accessible to a limited number of users in the latest beta versions for both iOS and Android. Similar to other features trialed through WhatsApp's beta program, it may take some time for quizzes to be available to a broader audience.

WhatsApp has not yet released a timeline for a public launch and has not confirmed if the feature will include the same functionalities observed in the beta versions. The company is anticipated to provide additional information once the feature is ready for wider distribution.
