The Disney+ app is now officially available as a native application on Meta’s Quest virtual reality headsets, providing users with a straightforward method to stream Disney’s extensive library in VR without relying on a browser or alternate methods. Meta initially revealed its intention to offer Disney+ to Quest users during its Connect event earlier this year, and the app is currently accessible to users in the United States.
In its announcement, Meta stated that Disney+ subscribers will now have access to content from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, and National Geographic. A limited selection of content from Hulu and ESPN will also be accessible on Meta Quest headsets through the app, but users must bundle these services with their Disney+ subscription for full access.
Meta emphasized the app’s support for high-quality playback, noting that since the Quest is Dolby-enabled, certain Disney+ titles will be available in Dolby Vision 4K HDR on the headset. Subscribers can also stream content with Dolby Atmos Sound for an enhanced experience.
The company indicated that over 100 titles in Disney’s library support 4K UHD and HDR, with some Marvel and Pixar titles also offering IMAX’s extended aspect ratio on Quest headsets.

Disney+ subscribers can download the app on their Quest headsets running the latest version of Horizon OS. After installation, users can explore and stream content in a virtual environment tailored for large-screen viewing. Although the app is currently limited to the US, Meta intends to extend availability to more markets soon.
Meta’s initiative to bring Disney+ to Quest headsets underscores its goal to transform VR headsets into more than just gaming devices. With major streaming services now accessible on Quest headsets, users can seamlessly switch between gaming and entertainment without exiting the VR environment.
