You inquired about budget TVs that we overlooked and the top Roku-powered TV.
This week, we're sticking to a theme and exploring some top-recommended TVs. These questions originated from viewers of our previous best TVs video, so consider this a continuation of that discussion.
The earlier video highlighted our choices across three different price categories. Many have pointed out potential gaps, so I suggest watching that one as well to get the full perspective.
This likely won't be the last time we touch on this topic. It's shopping season, and with the announcement and launch of the 2026 TVs, we may see even greater discounts on the best models from 2024 and 2025.
Should the Sony Bravia 7 be classified as mid-tier?
Sony Bravia 7 Zeke Jones / Digital Trends
@bpowick asks: Should the Sony Bravia 7 be featured on the mid-tier list? I often feel confused by the reviews of this TV. Many reviewers note its similarities to the Bravia 9, which many consider the top mini LED TV available, yet few reviewers actually recommend it.
Most reviews and comparisons tend to be quite nuanced, with many aspects being subjective. Having experienced many of the top TVs since 2023, I found just one that left me feeling “meh," though that model could still produce a high-quality image with good content. It struggled with upscaling in comparison to others. That TV was the Vizio Quantum Pro.
In ideal viewing conditions where room lighting can be controlled, all these TVs perform admirably. They are excellent in their capabilities.
The Sony Bravia 7 is indeed a strong TV. I would go so far as to say it's superior to what most people have in their homes. It looks fantastic and includes all the features expected from a premium Mini LED TV. If it were the only option, there would be no complaints.
However, subjectivity and comparisons do matter. The Bravia 7 isn't the sole Mini LED TV available, and its launch price in 2024 was not competitive. With models from 2025 now available, more appealing alternatives can be found.
Hisense U8QG Digital Trends
The Hisense U8N (2024) and U8QG (2025) are both brighter and manage reflections more effectively. TCL’s QM8 models provide similar benefits. While they may not match Sony in HDR accuracy or picture processing, they usually cost hundreds of dollars less.
Samsung’s premier Mini LED models feature four HDMI 2.1 ports compared to Sony’s two and offer a faster refresh rate. Additionally, the Bravia 7 has a narrower viewing angle.
Currently, the Bravia 7 is priced at $1200, which alters the conversation. However, when it was priced between $1700 and $1900, the competition provided better value.
This situation is analogous to the camera market. Sony’s A7 V is outstanding, though some criticize it for not appealing to everyone or because competitors offer better value. The Bravia 7 finds itself in a similar position. There’s nothing inherently wrong with it, and it surely isn’t the worst, but other options either provide more or cost less, making it a more challenging recommendation.
Are there top TVs that support Roku?
Roku Pro Series TV Zeke Jones / Digital Trends
@aslan-og asks: Are there any leading TVs that support Roku? I know it’s usually associated with lower-end models, but I like the interface.
I share that sentiment. For many years, I used an LG TV with a Roku streaming stick for all my viewing.
The Roku Pro Series TV is an excellent choice that deserves recognition as the "best TV that runs Roku’s operating system."
It’s a 4K Mini LED TV equipped with Dolby Vision and HDR 10 Plus, a rare combination these days. It features two HDMI 2.1 ports, a 120 Hz refresh rate, and VRR support. It’s an attractive 65-inch TV that retails for $1200 but is often available for less.

If you’re seeking a brighter TV with superior features and processing, you can pair a Roku Ultra streaming box with another brand's television. This will provide support for the same formats, including Dolby Vision, HDR 10 Plus, Dolby Atmos, and DTS Digital Surround.
For better flexibility with gaming consoles and external audio, consider models from Samsung or LG, or the Hisense U75QG, all of which come with four HDMI 2.1 ports. The Hisense U8QG offers three.
What about truly budget TVs and smaller sizes?

@larryhoffman7471 asks: You omitted truly budget-friendly TVs, like the QM6K or others in a similar price range or even lower. Many people are seeking new TVs, and $1000 is simply too much for a 65-inch model. Referring to models like the QM7K as budget is a
