Details regarding Samsung’s upcoming One UI 8.5 update have seemingly been leaked, indicating a host of new features that the software version is expected to introduce for current Galaxy devices – and potentially what the Galaxy S26 series may debut with.
The information surfaced on X, shared by leaker Tarun Vats (via Android Police), who claims to have obtained an exclusive look at the One UI 8.5 changelog that outlines nearly every modification.
While we cannot guarantee the accuracy of this leak, it appears to align with existing rumors and reports; therefore, it is advisable to take it with caution.

What’s new?
As expected, the leak suggests that the One UI 8.5 update will enhance AI functionalities within the software, introducing “Continuous image generation.” The notes indicate that this feature allows users to create AI images utilizing various Photo assist functions without needing to save each version. Once completed, users can review all their creations in their history and select their favorites.
Samsung’s AI assistant, Bixby, may also receive enhancements, becoming more adept at comprehending natural language requests, meaning users won’t need to be overly specific when making requests, and it could provide quicker answers.
Samsung Health seems poised for updates as well, featuring improved weekly reports, enhanced sharing options, and upgraded watch controls.
For those interested in weather updates, the weather widget is reported to be improved with precipitation graphs, along with the addition of pollen index data.
The leak also mentions that there will be advancements in connectivity, accessibility, battery performance, security, and privacy.
However, the leak does not address any model-specific updates that may be included with One UI 8.5. Occasionally, certain devices receive tailored updates focused on aspects like their cameras, battery, or other essential features. Consequently, there may be additional updates for owners of devices such as the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, or any Galaxy S25 models.
When One UI 8.5 is finally launched, it’s unlikely to be available for all Galaxy phones and tablets simultaneously. Samsung may implement a staggered rollout similar to what occurred with One UI 8, starting with the S25 series and then gradually providing the update to older devices over the ensuing weeks and months.
As for the expected release date of One UI 8.5, it remains unverified. Reports suggest that Samsung might initiate its beta program for the update as early as December 8 for users in the United States, United Kingdom, Korea, and Germany, although the company has yet to make any official announcements.
