At $400, the Moto G Stylus doesn’t claim to be a flagship. However, the signature stylus incorporated into its design is typically seen only in higher-end devices like the Samsung Galaxy S25 Ultra. This positions the Moto G Stylus as one of the few phones in its category that caters to note-takers, casual artists, and those who prefer a bit more control.

I must admit, I’m not an avid stylus user. I frequently need to remind myself to engage it when a phone supports it. Nonetheless, the Moto G Stylus isn't just about the stylus, as Motorola has included many impressive features in this economical device.

I am quite impressed by what devices like this signify for the increasingly competitive mid-range market in 2025.

      **Moto G Stylus (2025): Design**

The first thing that struck me about the Moto G Stylus was its appealing Pantone Surf the Web Blue color, which is vivid and stands out. Having recently reviewed the Moto G 2025, I was already familiar with its faux-leather back, which I still find visually and tactilely appealing, reflecting Motorola’s brand signature throughout its mid-range lineup.

I particularly like the two-tone finish on the plastic frame: a frosted band bordered by a reflective coating that gives it a convincing glass-like appearance at first glance. The stylus fits snugly at the bottom of the device and has never popped out while in my pocket. The spring ejection mechanism feels premium, akin to the Galaxy S25 Ultra’s S Pen.

Despite its slim profile, the phone boasts IP68 dust-and-water resistance, which is new for the Stylus series, along with military-grade MIL-810H shock and heat resistance. However, I didn’t perceive it as a "rugged phone."

Additionally, the wired headphone jack is still present along the bottom edge for those who prefer analog audio, as is a micro-SD card slot for expanded storage, giving it a feel of nostalgia from earlier Android smartphones.

      **Moto G Stylus (2025): Display**

The 6.7-inch AMOLED Super HD display refreshes at up to 120 Hz, though it initially comes set to an Auto refresh option that adjusts based on screen content. Fortunately, I was able to set it to 120 Hz, which was much more pleasing to my eyes.

The display performs well in bright sunlight,
