The Anker Solix F3800 Plus offers a more advanced power station that remedies many issues found in the first-generation F3800. I had the opportunity to compare both units side by side to evaluate how well Anker has responded to customer feedback.
Last February, I spent some time with the original Anker Solix F3800, which was relatively new to the market. Despite some minor issues, it remains one of the premier power stations available. Fortunately, Anker has issued numerous firmware updates during the past year to smooth out any complications. You can read about my experience with the Solix F3800 on our other site, The Manual. Since its launch, the Solix F3800 has attracted a significant fan base, many of whom have suggested new features and fixes, which the Solix F3800 Plus addresses. Anker has heeded its customers, resolving complaints and introducing several new features that are likely to please new users.
What is the price of the Anker Solix F3800 Plus?
The MSRP for the Anker Solix F3800 Plus is $4,799, but you may find lower prices with some searching. As of this writing, for instance, the Solix F3800 Plus is available for around $3,499 directly from Anker, which is a savings of $21,300 off the MSRP.
I also found the F3800 Plus available at various online retailers, including Amazon, with prices varying based on packaging. When I inquired about discounts, Anker informed me that they frequently offer promotions and special deals.
What is included with the Anker Solix F3800 Plus?
The F3800 Plus comes with minimal items in the box—a user manual and warranty pamphlets, the AC charging cable for the unit, and two solar charging cables for connecting solar panels.
I was disappointed to find that the AC charging cable is much shorter than the one that came with the original F3800 unit. Therefore, ensure you have an AC outlet nearby or be prepared to buy a longer cord separately.
Features and Design of the F3800 Plus
At first glance, the F3800 Plus appears nearly identical to the original F3800. Their shapes and weights are similar; however, upon closer inspection of the connections on the side of the F3800 Plus, differences become apparent.
Key differences between the F3800 and F3800 Plus include:
- The original F3800 accepts up to 2400W solar input, while the F3800 Plus handles 3200W, enabling faster battery charging.
- An adapter is required for the original F3800 to charge an EV, while the F3800 Plus features a dedicated port for direct EV connection.
- The F3800 Plus can be used with 240V gas generators (up to 6,000 bypass).
- It supports simultaneous charging via generator or solar while powering connected devices.
- The original F3800 could not output AC power while charging with AC concurrently—the Plus version corrects this issue.
Anker has a detailed comparison video on YouTube showcasing these differences.
