The Criterion Collection of video games has finally arrived.
Lost in Cult
Video game design studio Lost in Cult has unveiled a new physical game label named Editions. This label will offer “prestige” editions of cherished games, featuring original box art, 40-page booklets, and additional bonuses.
Lost in Cult is primarily recognized for its Design Works series, which publishes books about video games, alongside vinyl records with game soundtracks. Editions is an extension of this initiative, furthering the company's commitment to game preservation and curated content. It can be likened to a Criterion Collection for video games, conserving esteemed titles and packaging them with extra context that highlights their significance within the medium.
The first wave of releases includes three games: Immortality, Thank Goodness You’re Here, and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow. All three are critically acclaimed indie titles from this decade (Immortality was the runner-up for Digital Trends’ game of the year in 2022, narrowly losing to Elden Ring). Each edition will include a poster, art cards, a booklet with essays and interviews, and other physical extras.

Currently, all three games are available for pre-order at £60. Lost in Cult plans to ship Editions globally and indicates that they will be dispatched within six months, though they aim for a three-month turnaround.
Initially, Editions will be released solely for PS5 and Nintendo Switch. Thank Goodness You’re Here will be available on both platforms, Immortality will have a PS5-exclusive release, and The Excavation of Hob’s Barrow will be for Switch. There will be a limited number of copies available for each platform, but Lost in Cult assures that standard editions of the games will also be available through retailers.
Lost in Cult also confirmed plans for Nintendo Switch 2 Editions (not to be confused with … Nintendo Switch 2 Editions) in the future, which will always be “full editions” rather than Game-Key Cards.
More titles are on the way soon. While Lost in Cult will not release anything in June, they plan to launch their next Edition in July for Nintendo Switch and PS5, teasing that it is an “artful” game. Future releases are anticipated through 2026.
The first three Editions are now available for pre-order through Lost in Cult.

Shadow Labyrinth could potentially deliver on its unusual concept.
Forty-five years after the launch of Pac-Man, Bandai Namco is finally addressing the long-standing question: "What would it be like as a 2D Metroidvania?" Surely, you’ve all been wondering that, right? Well, your curiosity will soon be satisfied with the release of Shadow Labyrinth on July 18. At PAX East 2025, Digital Trends had the opportunity to try out the game and spoke with Seigo Aizawa, producer at Bandai Namco, about Pac-Man's new direction. Aizawa demonstrated how the unconventional game aligns more closely with Pac-Man’s fundamental principles than it might initially appear. It may feature gritty Metroidvania elements and challenging boss encounters, but it remains the classic maze-navigating, eat-em-up that fans have enjoyed for decades, albeit in a notably different format.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33’s style is integral to its essence.
From its opening shot of the Eiffel Tower, distorted and twisted, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 boldly asserts its French identity, albeit with a dark twist. This turn-based RPG embraces the aesthetics of its developer, Sandfall Interactive’s home country, setting it apart from its many high-profile counterparts. As a narrative focused on themes of death and sorrow, it naturally invites comparisons to prominent titles like Final Fantasy X and Lost Odyssey. While the themes may be alike, can you picture Tidus sporting a beret? I doubt it.
The overtly French visual style of Clair Obscur may initially seem like merely a decorative layer. However, a deeper understanding of French history reveals that this is not a matter of style over substance — the style itself is the substance.
