      Without new smartphones, but with a new reality. Google held perhaps the most intense AI presentation in its history. Gemini is now everywhere — from search and browser to mail, smart glasses and video generation. The world has become noticeably smarter and a little weirder.

       A year ago, Google cautiously hinted that Gemini was more than just a language model. Today, this is no longer a concept, but the actual foundation of the entire digital ecosystem.

       I/O 2025 was the moment when AI came out of the interfaces and began to manage them. Instead of new devices, there are modules, agents, services, and tools that can not only support a conversation, but also, say, arrange a meeting with a realtor for you while you watch a movie.

       The most striking update is the AI Mode in Google Search. The new tab makes the search conversational, flexible, and visual. Users are already formulating queries two to three times longer, clarifying details, and getting detailed, logical answers. The search recognizes text, photos, videos, and voice, and the Deep Search feature turns queries into full-fledged analytical materials.

       The emphasis is on speed and scale. The new Gemini models are faster and more accurate, and the Ironwood TPU-based servers provide up to 42.5 exaflops per computing module. It is ten times more powerful than the previous generation. The volume of tokens processed increased from 9.7 trillion to 480 trillion over the year. The number of developers using Gemini has reached 7 million, which is five times more than in 2024.

      

       The flagship Gemini 2.5 Pro model has received a Deep Think mode designed for complex tasks in mathematics, code and logic. For more everyday tasks, the Gemini 2.5 Flash version is presented, which is lighter, cheaper and already available to users.

       AI is now not only responding, but also acting. Gmail now has personalized Smart Replies. The model analyzes correspondence and documents in Google Drive, adjusts the tone, adds links and attaches the necessary files. In Google Workspace, you can turn presentations into videos with AI avatars, collect podcasts, and build infographics.

       On the visual front, new versions of Imagen 4 and Veo 3. Veo now creates videos with sound in 24 languages, controls the camera and removes objects. The Google Flow app allows you to assemble a short video clip (up to eight seconds so far) and assemble it into a full-fledged scene.

       Among the hardware innovations, Project Aura is presented. Smart glasses based on the Android XR platform recognize objects, display hints, translate speech and support navigation. The prototype is already working. The development is being carried out jointly with Xreal, Samsung and Gentle Monster.

       Google Beam, the successor to Project Starline, is also presented. It is a 3D video communication system with precise motion tracking and real-time voice translation. So far, it only works with English and Spanish and is available to AI Pro and AI Ultra subscribers (the latter costs $250 per month).

       Project Astra is developing as a proactive assistant. It reacts to what is happening through the camera: it recognizes errors, identifies objects, and launches actions without an explicit command. In Agent Mode, Gemini can already work with websites, filters, and interfaces. There are plans to expand functions in Chrome, Search and API.

       Among the niche tools is Stitch, which generates interfaces based on a text description or sketch. AI Mode is also testing a photo-based virtual clothing fitting feature. So far, this is an experiment, but with great potential for online retail.

       Against this background, the Android 16 and Wear OS 6 updates look modest. The improved interface, new animations, and customization are more of a background setting in an era when all attention is focused on AI.

       Gemini is becoming a new digital layer, an interface between the user and the entire Google ecosystem. This is no longer an assistant, but a full-fledged decision-making and action mechanism.

       Google doesn't just make services anymore. This is already a platform where AI is not a function, but a way to interact with the digital world. The future is no longer announced — it's just enabled by default.
