What could be better than having a single link in your bio? Perhaps two or even three? Threads now enables users to incorporate multiple links into their bios, surpassing the number of links that X, previously known as Twitter, permits on user profiles.
In a press release on Thursday, Meta announced this new feature for Threads, allowing users to add up to five links to their bios. This enhancement is particularly beneficial for content creators, enabling them to link to their podcasts, YouTube channels, Twitch streams, TikTok pages, newsletters, articles, and more, allowing their followers to engage with their content beyond Threads.
In addition to allowing more links than the single link designated by X, Meta is introducing a weekly recap feature within Insights. This allows users to track the performance of their links weekly, meaning they can see how many clicks their links received, whether these were posted in their bios or shared in their posts. Users can also compare the number of posts shared from week to week, view total engagement, track new follower growth, and receive suggestions on how to use their platform more effectively to connect with their community.
Meta's decision to permit Threads users to include multiple links follows about two months after adding a feature allowing users to add up to ten topics to their profiles. This topics feature aimed to enhance the discovery of other users and content creators with similar interests, and users could tag topics in their posts to direct others to a feed of related discussions.

Android phones receive new security feature that iPhone users already have
Google is adopting a feature inspired by Apple by introducing a new security function that automatically restarts Android phones after several days of inactivity.
The new auto-restart feature, included in the latest Google Play services update released on Monday, will prompt devices like the Google Pixel 9 or Samsung Galaxy S25 to restart if left locked for three consecutive days. This means a PIN will be required to unlock the device after this period, similar to the Inactivity Reboot feature found on iOS 18.1, except iPhones restart after four days.
WhatsApp is testing a new chat feature to enhance privacy
Do you have a friend in your group chat who struggles to keep secrets? WhatsApp is addressing this issue with "advanced chat privacy," a feature currently under testing that allows users to prevent others from exporting chats or automatically saving photos and other media sent without their consent.
WABetaInfo reported on Monday that the toggle for the new chat privacy option was found in the latest app beta for both Android and iOS over the weekend. The goal of "advanced chat privacy," applicable to both individual and group chats, is to give users greater control over the information they share, minimizing the risk of accidental leaks, unauthorized data sharing, and the archiving of messages without their knowledge.
