Aqara has introduced a new camera hub, the G5 Pro, to the Russian market. This device combines video surveillance and the capabilities of a smart home center. The camera is available in two versions — with a Wi-Fi connection or via PoE (data and power transmission via a single cable).

He can see even in the dark

The G5 Pro camera can shoot in full color even at night — the Full Color Night Vision technology is responsible for this. With a resolution of 4 MP and a viewing angle of 133°, it transmits a clear and detailed image. The high-power f/1.0 aperture helps it to "catch" more light, which makes night shooting especially high-quality.

The device is protected according to the IP65 standard, which means that it is not afraid of rain or snow. The camera operates at temperatures up to -30°C, so it can be used both inside and outside the house.

      The AI works locally

One of the strengths of the G5 Pro is the built—in artificial intelligence that processes data directly on the device. The camera can recognize faces, animals, cars, and sounds without sending data to the cloud. This provides additional privacy protection.

      Device functionality

The camera has 32 GB of internal memory, which is enough for about a day of continuous recording. But if desired, videos can also be saved to iCloud, NAS servers, or the proprietary Aqara cloud.Image: Aqara Press Office

The G5 Pro not only shoots, but also allows you to communicate. It has a microphone and a powerful speaker (up to 100 dB), so you can talk to the person near the camera, even if you are far away.

The camera supports Zigbee 3.0 and Thread, which means that you can use it to control other devices in the smart home system. For example, she can turn on the lights when a person appears or raise the curtains when someone from the family returns home.Image: Aqara Press Office

For users who already have Ethernet installed, there is a PoE version of the camera. It receives both power and Internet via a single cable, which is convenient for those who want to upgrade an old video surveillance system. There is also a Wi-Fi version that operates at 2.4GHz and 5 GHz.

The camera is powered via USB-C or, in the case of PoE, directly via an Ethernet cable.

The Aqara G5 Pro camera is already available for order. It is compatible with Apple HomeKit Secure Video, which means that the video will be stored encrypted and will not be released to the cloud without your knowledge.
