Next-generation foldables are on the way as Samsung is said to have commenced mass production of the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Fold 7.
It has been an eventful year for Samsung, having introduced the Galaxy S25 series at the start of the year, followed by new AI-oriented home appliances and vacuum cleaners a few months later. However, if you believed that was all for Samsung this year, reconsider.
The company is merely weeks away from the official debut of the Galaxy S25 Edge, which is rumored to be fully unveiled on May 13, having been hinted at during the Galaxy S25 event. Additionally, their folding devices are anticipated to be launched before summer concludes.
Regarding Samsung's folding devices, the latest speculation indicates that production has begun for the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This information comes from PandaFlashPro on X and has been highlighted by Sammobile, suggesting that both devices, along with their accessories, are in the production phase.
If confirmed, this development would keep the folding devices on schedule for their launch, which, based on last year's timeline, should occur around July. In previous years, Samsung announced its folding phones and smartwatches in early August, but this schedule has shifted earlier in recent years.
Interestingly, PandaFlashPro’s post does not mention the Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE, which has also been rumored to launch alongside the other two models as a more affordable option. There have been various reports about the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7, and while Samsung has not yet confirmed details regarding these devices, we are starting to gain insights into their potential features.
What can we anticipate from the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7?
The Galaxy Z Flip 7 is expected to compete with Motorola’s Razr Ultra 2025 upon its release, with claims indicating it will possess a larger external display of 4 inches—similar to the Razr Ultra—which will be fully functional. In contrast, the Galaxy Z Flip 6’s cover screen is limited to notifications, quick settings, and widgets unless adjusted through backend settings or third-party tools, so an upgraded functional external display akin to that of Motorola’s Razr would be welcome.
There is also the expectation of a larger battery, although initial reports suggested the inclusion of the Snapdragon 8 Elite, more recent updates indicate that the Exynos 2500 may power Samsung’s flagship flip phone.
The Galaxy Z Fold 7, on the other hand, is expected to utilize Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite and feature a slimmer design compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 6.
As of now, nothing has been officially confirmed, but if mass production has indeed commenced for these devices, we can likely expect more rumors in the coming weeks and months.
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 may introduce a significantly improved camera setup. According to renowned tipster yeux1122, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 might replace its under-display camera (UDC) with a more conventional pinhole camera. While under-display technology has been a staple for Samsung, it has only been featured in the Galaxy Z Fold series. Although UDCs create a seamless aesthetic, they fall short in quality compared to standard cameras.
Yeux1122 shared this information on Naver, a Korean blogging site, arguing that under-display cameras are not as cost-effective as other options. Given the current economic situation, he notes that Apple has delayed adopting the technology in its devices and that Samsung's Galaxy division is "also moving in a similar direction." This decision is driven by costs and the fact that Samsung is reportedly facing challenges in enhancing the technical capabilities of the camera.

Samsung is preparing to launch its budget foldable phone under the “Fan Edition” branding later this year. While there have only been whispers about a Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE in development, we may have our first glimpse of the device. The Galaxy Z Flip 7 FE is likely to follow the design language of the standard Galaxy Z Flip 6.
According to the latest leak, this affordable foldable is expected to feature a 3.4-inch cover display and a 6.7-inch internal foldable screen. The primary difference may be that the FE variant
