Judge Dredd (1995)
Travel back two decades with Judge Dredd, the Sylvester Stallone sci-fi action film often considered one of the actor’s lesser works. Nonetheless, there's something comforting about watching something so delightfully cheesy. Set in 2139, Earth has turned into a hazardous wasteland, where Judges serve as police, jury, and executioner. Judge Joseph Dredd (Stallone) is among the most feared and is charged with preventing a war in Mega-City One.
The movie features impressive visual effects for its era, including animatronics, hydraulically powered effects, and striking prosthetic makeup. Striking a unique balance between action-packed storytelling and parody, Judge Dredd was remade in 2012 with Dredd, which has garnered a cult following and revved up interest in the original.
