Motorola's lineup of phones for 2026 has been revealed, and it's quite repetitive.

A few weeks back, Motorola launched its 2025 lineup of Edge and G-series smartphones. However, it seems the company is already progressing with the development of their next models, although leaks might spoil any potential surprises.
Android Headlines has released alleged renders of the Moto Edge 70, Moto G 2026, and Moto G Power 2026. All three models appear to maintain a similar design aesthetic to their predecessors from the last couple of years.
Motorola seems unwilling to alter the shape of the camera bump or the faux leather finish on the back of the phones. While it’s a good strategy to uphold a design identity among the sea of Android competitors, a little design experimentation could be beneficial at this stage.
Familiar look, new identity

According to the leaked information, the upscale Moto Edge 70 resembles the Moto Edge 60. It shares design elements such as the camera lens positioned on the left-corner bump, curved sides, and a sloping display across both generations.
Details on the internal hardware are not available, but the source of the leak speculates that the Moto Edge 70 might feature 12GB of RAM for enhanced Moto AI capabilities along with a MediaTek Dimensity 7000 series processor. The Moto G Power 2026 appears to fully inherit the design aesthetics of its 2025 predecessor, which debuted earlier this year.

The dual-camera arrangement on the back is said to include a 50-megapixel sensor, along with a separate ambient light sensor positioned beneath the LED flash. Interestingly, this mid-range device focused on battery life might replace the faux leather finish with a frosted glass appearance, although the material is still expected to be plastic.
Conversely, the standard Moto G 2026 retains the leather-like texture derived from polycarbonate and also features a dual camera setup on the back. Unfortunately, specifics about its internal components remain undisclosed.

The prevailing trend indicates that Motorola is sticking to a familiar design language, adopting a strategy akin to Samsung’s. However, it’s important to remember that these are very early leaks, and plans could evolve. In addition to what has been revealed, the forthcoming budget phones may still present some unexpected surprises in terms of finish and color options.
In recent years, Motorola has explored a variety of unique design elements, such as wood grain finishes, which offers some hope for innovation. The foldable Razr 2025 series also showcased an Alcantara finish, a material commonly found in Microsoft’s Surface laptop line, while the other color choices are equally impressive.
Motorola is already rolling out its Android 15 beta update to some devices
Android enthusiasts can relax as Android 15 is finally here, making its way to compatible smartphones. The expected release has begun, with reports confirming its rollout to Pixel devices yesterday, and Motorola has already announced it would be available for numerous models.
As noted by GSMArena, some users are starting to see the Android 15 beta appear on the Motorola Edge 50 Fusion, suggesting that other Edge 50 variants are likely receiving the update as well. While these smartphones are currently getting the beta update, the complete version should also reach these handsets—potentially by the year’s end, assuming the current update is a test for OS stability.
Motorola faced challenges in 2024 and here's what they need to improve in 2025
Change is in the air. Leaves are transforming into beautiful shades of yellow and red, temperatures are cooler, and nights are lengthening. Fall is officially here, coinciding with the rapidly approaching end of 2024.
This period typically sees companies have launched their major products, making it an opportune time to reflect on successes and failures and how to leverage those insights for improvement in the new year. Motorola has experienced a mix of highs and lows throughout 2024, so as 2025 approaches, there are several focal points that could lead to a smoother year ahead.

Motorola appears to be addressing its software update issues
Motorola may be closing the gap with brands like Samsung and Google in terms of the length of Android updates it delivers for its smartphones. A new Motorola phone could potentially offer five years of updates, marking the second instance within months of such a commitment.
The recently revealed Motorola Moto G75 is set to come with five Android OS upgrades and six years of security updates. This means users can anticipate upgrading their device to at least Android 19, as the Moto G75 launches with Android 14. Last month, it was announced that the Motorola Edge 50 Neo would also feature five years of OS updates and security patches.
