Three fantastic free movies to watch this weekend (May 2-4).

Are movie theaters making a comeback? It's possible! Last weekend saw four films — Sinners, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, The Accountant 2, and A Minecraft Movie — each earning more than $20 million. Given that one of these films (Sith) was released 20 years ago, this is a significant achievement for cinemas. The future looks even brighter with Thunderbolts* set to premiere on May 2.

Consider spending some money at the theaters. Afterward, unwind and enjoy a free movie on a FAST service. Tubi and Pluto TV are among the top FAST services that don’t charge for sign-up. Our three suggestions include a thriller from David Fincher, a comedy starring Jim Carrey, and a culinary drama.

We also provide guides to the latest movies to stream, as well as the top films on Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Max, and Disney+.

      **Panic Room (2002)**

      *Sony Pictures Releasing*

Give David Fincher one setting, and he’ll transform it into an elegant thriller. Panic Room largely takes place within a New York brownstone, specifically in a panic room — a secluded concrete space equipped with an elaborate security system. Meg Altman (Jodie Foster) and her young daughter Sarah (Kristen Stewart) have moved into the house after it was bequeathed to them by a reclusive millionaire.

On their first night, three burglars — Burnham (Forest Whitaker), Raoul (Dwight Yoakam), and Junior (Jared Leto) — break into the brownstone in search of bearer bonds kept in the panic room’s safe. The catch? Meg and Sarah seek refuge inside the panic room. This leads to a tense cat-and-mouse game between the mother-daughter pair and the intruders. Fincher excels as the director, while Foster delivers a captivating performance.

      **Ace Ventura: Pet Detective (1994)**

      *Warner Bros.*

Alrighty, then. Jim Carrey kicked off his iconic 1994 with Ace Ventura: Pet Detective. Carrey brings his trademark humor and physical comedy to the character of Ace Ventura, the quirky private investigator on the hunt for missing animals. When the Miami Dolphins’ mascot is taken, the team recruits Ace to solve the mystery.

Despite his unconventional methods, Ace makes progress in the case and suspects that the kidnapper is linked to a famous Dolphins team from the 1980s. However, he doesn’t foresee the abduction of player Dan Marino. Now, Ace must locate both the beloved dolphin and the star quarterback before the Super Bowl. Be ready to quote Ace’s unforgettable one-liners in everyday chats.

      **Burnt (2015)**

      *The Weinstein Company*

Bradley Cooper channels the intensity of Gordon Ramsay with Bobby Flay’s flair in his role as Adam Jones in Burnt. Adam is a hot-headed two-star Michelin chef who has self-destructed and ruined his career in Paris. After completing his self-imposed exile, Adam goes to London and forces his way into the kitchen of his former colleague Tony Balerdi (Daniel Brühl).

Tony is unable to afford a kitchen shutdown, so he reluctantly accepts Adam as the head chef. Adam runs a strict kitchen and is not shy about yelling at anyone who crosses him, including the talented chef Helene (Sienna). There’s a method to his chaos as Adam aims to earn a third Michelin star. While it may not be the finest culinary film, Burnt serves as a tribute to food and offers an enjoyable B-movie experience.
