NYT Strands for today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Wednesday, April 30.
Strands is a new daily puzzle introduced by the New York Times. It offers a more challenging twist on the traditional word search, requiring sharp attention to detail to solve it. Like Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can sometimes be quite tricky. It’s perfectly fine to seek a bit of assistance if you get stuck. If you’re struggling with today’s Strands puzzle and need the answers, you can find the solved puzzle below.
How to play Strands
Each Strands puzzle begins with the aim of uncovering the “theme words” concealed within the letter grid. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; to confirm the last letter, double-tap it. If you correctly identify a word, the letters will be highlighted in blue and will no longer be selectable.
If you discover a word that isn’t a theme word, it can still be beneficial! For every three non-theme words you identify that are at least four letters long, you will receive a hint — one letter from a theme word will be revealed, and you’ll need to unscramble it.
Every letter in the grid contributes to spelling the theme words without any overlap. Each letter will only be utilized once.
Every puzzle contains one “spangram,” which is a unique theme word (or words) that represents the puzzle's theme and connects two opposite sides of the grid. When you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The objective is to finish the puzzle swiftly without relying too heavily on hints.

Once a PlayStation exclusive, Death Stranding will be available on Game Pass next week.
505 Games has announced that Death Stranding is set to launch on PC Game Pass on August 23. The publisher confirmed that this version will be the original 2019 game, not the Director's Cut. The game will feature ultrawide support, a photo mode, and high frame rates. 505 Games also mentioned that it will include crossover content, likely referring to collaborations with Half Life and Cyberpunk 2077. Additionally, players will gain access to some unlockable items.
Death Stranding Director’s Cut will finally be released on PC on March 30.
Kojima Productions and 505 Games' Death Stranding Director's Cut is slated to be released for PC on March 30, 2022. It will be priced at $40 for new players, although those who already own Death Stranding on PC can upgrade for a nominal fee. The Director’s Cut is an enhanced version of Hideo Kojima's most experimental game. It follows Norman Reedus' character, Sam Porter Bridges, as he journeys across America to reconnect humanity. In our 2019 game review, Digital Trends noted that "it won't change the opinions of Kojima critics who believe he should just focus on films, but the game's thoughtful social elements highlight his continued significance in the gaming industry."
