As the warmer weather approaches, The Pokémon Company has unveiled the latest packs for Pokémon TCG Pocket: Celestial Guardians, which revolves around Alolan Pokémon from Pokémon Sun and Moon, featuring Lunala and Solgaleo as the main attractions. Celestial Guardians will be released globally on April 30, 2025.

This means it’s time to start saving your hourglasses so that you can open as many packs as possible when the new set arrives. Celestial Guardians will include popular Pokémon such as Rowlet, Litten, and Popplio, alongside the irresistibly cute Alolan Raichu that surfs on its own tail.

In conjunction with the launch of these two packs, Pokémon TCG Pocket will introduce new accessories, including a binder cover and a display board featuring Rowlet, to help showcase your favorite selections from the new set.

Moreover, if that’s not enough, the game is hosting a special event just before the release of Celestial Guardians. From Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00 p.m. PDT to Monday, May 12 at 10:59 p.m. PDT, players can engage in special solo battles to earn new promo cards, one of which will feature Rayquaza ex. Additionally, players can participate in special missions for a chance to receive a different Rayquaza ex promo card along with various new accessories and other prizes. These missions will be available from Tuesday, April 29 at 11:00 p.m. PDT until Wednesday, May 28 at 10:59 p.m. PDT.

Pokémon TCG Pocket remains one of the most popular games on both iOS and Android app stores, providing players the opportunity to collect Pokémon cards for free, although there are options for in-game purchases. The Celestial Guardians set will mark the sixth themed collection, offering ten different booster packs. The game has also announced updates to its trading system to assist players in completing their card collections.

After considerable backlash from fans, Pokémon TCG Pocket is modifying its trading system. Although the trading feature was just added, it faced criticism due to its restrictive policies and the introduction of new currencies. Following the feedback received after the feature's implementation, TCG Pocket developer Creatures, Inc. has stated that updates and enhancements are forthcoming, although no specific timeline has been provided for when these changes will occur.

“Since launching the initial version of the trading feature, we have received extensive feedback. Thank you for sharing your thoughts. The requirements and restrictions set for trading were intended to prevent abuse from bots and other unauthorized activities involving multiple accounts. Our aim was to maintain a balance in the game while keeping the fun of collecting cards, which is essential to the Pokémon TCG Pocket experience,” the company stated in a press release.

The third major set for Pokémon TCG Pocket has been released, featuring Pokémon from Gen 4 with 207 unique cards. Space-Time Smackdown introduces numerous new cards that can shift the meta, whether they originate from the Dialga or Palkia packs. If the sheer number of new cards feels overwhelming, don't worry. Similar to the Mythical Island cards, some are decent while others are exceptional. To help you build the strongest decks, here are the standout cards from Space-Time Smackdown in Pokémon TCG Pocket.

Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is set to receive two significant updates next week. Trading will finally debut in the mobile card game on January 29, while new cards from the Space-Time Smackdown booster set will arrive on January 30. However, those looking to use trading to quickly complete their collections may find the system disappointing.
