NYT Strands today: clues, spangram, and solutions for Monday, April 21.
Strands is a fresh daily puzzle introduced by the New York Times. It offers a more challenging twist on the traditional word search, requiring a sharp eye to decipher the puzzle.
Similar to Wordle, Connections, and the Mini Crossword, Strands can pose challenges on certain days. There’s no harm in seeking a bit of assistance when needed. If you find yourself stuck and want the answers for today’s Strands puzzle, you can view the completed puzzle below.
How to play Strands
In every Strands puzzle, your objective is to uncover the “theme words” concealed within a grid of letters. You can manipulate the letters by dragging or tapping to form words; double-tap the last letter to finalize your selection. When you locate a correct word, the letters will turn blue and will no longer be selectable.
Even if you discover a word that is not a theme word, it’s still beneficial! For every three non-theme words you identify that are at least four letters in length, you will receive a hint—revealing the letters of one of the theme words which you will need to unscramble.
All letters in the grid are used to construct the theme words without any overlaps, meaning each letter will be used precisely once.
Each puzzle features one “spangram,” a special theme word (or words) that encapsulate the puzzle’s theme and connect two opposite edges of the board. When you find the spangram, it will be highlighted in yellow.
The aim is to complete the puzzle swiftly while minimizing the use of hints.
